[Partial Remote] Android Platform Engineer (Linux)

On behalf of our client, a global leader in specialized display technology, we are seeking a seasoned Android Platform Engineer to join their premier product development team. This role is pivotal in building and optimizing high-performance Android-based platforms for next-generation E-Ink Display (EPD) devices.

What you’ll do (Responsibilities)

• Core Platform Ownership: Lead the development, enhancement, and maintenance of Android platform code specifically tailored for specialized hardware constraints and capabilities.

• Architecture & Integration: Direct the integration of application frameworks and system-level services to support seamless e-reader functionalities.

• System Optimization: Drive Android OS customization, platform bring-up, and deep-layer performance tuning across the framework, HAL, and kernel layers.

• Global Collaboration: Act as a technical bridge between internal reader engine teams and international ODM partners to validate firmware and ensure platform stability.

• Technical Excellence: Uphold high engineering standards through rigorous code reviews, complex debugging, and sophisticated performance profiling within a global matrix organization.

c. What you’ll bring (Requirements)

• Technical Expertise: A degree in CS/EE with 3–10 years of proven experience in Android platform or system-level development.

• Software Mastery: Exceptional proficiency in C++ and Object-Oriented Design, with extensive experience in Android NDK and multi-threaded programming.

• System Integration: A strong track record in Android platform porting, framework integration, and cross-layer debugging.

• Communication Skills: Professional fluency in English (verbal and written), capable of navigating technical discussions with colleagues across different time zones.

• Preferred Assets: Familiarity with SurfaceFlinger/WindowManager or prior collaboration with ODM/hardware vendors on consumer electronics.
