What you'll do:

• Design and maintain comprehensive tracking and event plans that include robust naming conventions, detailed schemas, and user property management to ensure clarity across all data sources.
• Build and optimise ETL/ELT pipelines using Python, Spark, and SQL within Databricks (DLT), ensuring efficient data flow from raw ingestion to production-ready datasets.
• Define, document, and standardise core business metrics across multiple product and business domains to guarantee consistency in reporting and analysis.
• Create visually compelling dashboards that deliver actionable insights to product managers, engineers, and business stakeholders for informed decision-making.
• Collaborate closely with Data Scientists to integrate model outputs into scalable datasets that support real-time analytics and operational needs.
• Ensure high standards of data quality by implementing rigorous governance protocols and maintaining thorough documentation across all datasets and dashboards.
• Leverage cutting-edge AI tools to streamline productivity, automate repetitive tasks, and enhance overall data workflow efficiency.
• Work with cross-functional teams to translate complex business questions into clear data products and standardised metrics that drive strategic initiatives.
• Validate event instrumentation across various platforms such as Mixpanel or Braze to ensure accurate tracking of user interactions and behaviours.
• Continuously monitor emerging technologies in the analytics space to recommend improvements for existing processes and infrastructure.

What you bring:

• At least three years’ experience in analytics engineering, data engineering or business intelligence roles with demonstrable success in similar environments.
• Proven hands-on expertise building ETL/ELT pipelines using Python within Databricks or Spark environments for large-scale data processing.
• Advanced proficiency in SQL with experience maintaining gold-level datasets optimised for performance and reliability.
• Familiarity with dashboard creation using Tableau or similar BI tools to communicate insights effectively to non-technical audiences.
• Experience with event instrumentation techniques including validation processes on platforms such as Mixpanel or Braze.
• Knowledge of customer engagement tools like Segment or Amplitude for comprehensive event tracking across digital products.
• Ability to translate complex business questions into structured data products with standardised metrics supporting cross-team alignment.
• Excellent interpersonal communication skills enabling effective collaboration with engineers, product managers, and data scientists alike.
• Strong prioritisation abilities allowing you to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail.
• A proactive approach towards learning new technologies relevant to analytics engineering such as AWS S3/Lambda/RDS or Git-based version control.
