A dominant leader in Taiwan’s e-commerce and retail sector, currently scaling their data ecosystem to support millions of daily transactions. We are seeking a Data Engineer with a strong software engineering background to join their Data Platform Engineering team.

What You’ll Do

• System Modernization: Analyze and refactor existing data scheduling and batch processing systems to improve code quality, maintainability, and processing performance.

• Internal Tool Development: Build automated tools and service modules to enhance the efficiency of the data team, including data validation, quality checks, and monitoring dashboards.

• API & Service Design: Implement robust data access APIs to provide stable interfaces for downstream AI/ML and analytics teams.

• Infrastructure & DevOps: Drive containerization using Docker to improve service portability and implement CI/CD automation for data pipelines.

• Hybrid Cloud Integration: Collaborate on hybrid-cloud architectures, integrating on-premises platforms with cloud-native components like BigQuery, Redshift, or Databricks to optimize performance and cost.

• Reliability Engineering: Design advanced error-handling, retry mechanisms, and task dependency management to ensure fault-tolerant data operations.

What You’ll Bring

• Professional Experience: At least 3+ years of experience in data engineering or software development, with a track record of managing enterprise-level data services.

• Technical Proficiency: Strong expertise in Python and Java, with the ability to contribute to core system development and component expansion.

• Modern Data Stack: Familiarity with Data Lakehouse concepts, storage-compute separation, and big data frameworks such as Spark or Trino.

• Containerization & Cloud: Hands-on experience with Docker and a solid understanding of AWS or GCP cloud infrastructure.

• Software Engineering Rigor: A deep commitment to clean code standards, unit testing, and system reliability (SRE) principles.

• Bonus Points: Experience with Kubernetes (K8s) or real-time streaming technologies like Kafka and Flink.
