[Industry Top] Sr. Data Engineer

It's a dominant leader in Taiwan’s e-commerce and media ecosystem, currently undergoing a massive scale-up of their data capabilities. We are seeking a Senior Data Engineer to join their Data Platform Engineering team. This role is focused on building and modernizing enterprise-grade data infrastructure, shifting toward a modern Lakehouse architecture.

What You’ll Do

• System Modernization & Refactoring: Analyze and re-engineer existing data scheduling and batch processing systems to improve code quality, maintainability, and throughput.

• Internal Tool R&D: Develop automated tools and service modules (APIs) to enhance the "Developer Experience" for internal data users, including data quality validation and monitoring dashboards.

• Infrastructure Management: Lead the transition to containerized deployments using Docker and drive CI/CD automation for data services.

• Hybrid Cloud Integration: Architect and manage data resources across on-premises environments and public clouds (GCP, AWS, Azure), integrating components like BigQuery, Redshift, or Databricks.

• High-Performance Engineering: Implement robust error-handling, retry mechanisms, and alerting for complex data pipelines to ensure fault tolerance in a high-transaction environment.

What You’ll Bring

• Extensive Experience: At least 5 years in data engineering/architecture, with 2+ years specifically managing enterprise-level data structures.

• Technical Mastery: Proficiency in Python and Java, with expert-level SQL optimization skills. Deep knowledge of Apache Airflow (or similar orchestrators) is essential.

• Modern Data Stack: Familiarity with Lakehouse technologies (Delta Lake, Iceberg, or Hudi), distributed engines (Spark, Trino), and object storage (S3, GCS, MinIO).

• Architectural Knowledge: Strong understanding of Medallion Architecture, Data Vault, or Kimball modeling, along with experience in streaming (Kafka/Flink).

• DevOps & Containerization: Practical experience with Docker/Kubernetes and a solid grasp of hybrid-cloud architecture.
