[Partial Remote] Senior Data Engineer
Looking for a Senior Data Engineer to spearhead a "from-scratch" architectural evolution for a Global Leader in Digital Platform for the client. Currently, its APEC data team is at a critical inflection point, moving from basic data ingestion to a sophisticated Databricks ecosystem on Azure.
What you’ll do (Responsibilities)

Architect the Future: Own the end-to-end orchestration of the regional Data Platform, transitioning legacy pipelines into a modern, scalable Databricks/Synapse architecture.

Establish Engineering Excellence: Implement the first wave of CI/CD frameworks and DevOps practices for data projects, ensuring naming conventions, code reviews, and automated testing are integrated from day one.

Operational Governance: Monitor and manage cross-border pipelines to ensure 99.9% data accuracy and stability, specifically addressing the challenges of high-growth APEC data flows.

Cost & Performance Strategy: Lead FinOps initiatives to optimize Azure billing and resource allocation as data volume scales.

Business Partnership: Act as a technical consultant to non-technical stakeholders across APEC, challenging functional needs and analyzing technical feasibility to deliver high-impact data products.
What you’ll bring (Requirements)

Experience: 6-8+ years in Data Engineering, with a proven track record of building production-grade platforms from the ground up.

Technical Mastery: Deep expertise in Python, SQL, and Azure (ADF, Databricks, Synapse). Experience with K8s or Terraform is a significant plus.

The "Builder" Mindset: You are uncomfortable with "manual processes" and have a natural drive to automate, standardize, and document.

Communication: Fluent in English and Mandarin. You can explain the "why" behind an architectural choice to a Business Head as clearly as you can explain "how" to a peer.

Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Engineering, or a related quantitative field.
