A leading organisation in Taipei is seeking an accomplished AI Director to shape and own the vision for their enterprise AI platform. This pivotal role offers you the opportunity to define and drive the strategic direction of AI initiatives across multiple business units, ensuring alignment with enterprise architecture, business priorities, and risk frameworks. You will be at the forefront of establishing scalable standards that enable sustainable growth, while also overseeing architecture, governance, and responsible AI practices. The organisation values flexibility, cross-regional collaboration, and a commitment to operational excellence, providing you with a supportive environment where your expertise will have a tangible impact on both technology and business outcomes. If you are passionate about influencing executive decision-making, building high-performing teams, and delivering measurable results in a regulated industry, this is your chance to make a lasting difference.

  • Shape the enterprise-wide AI platform vision and roadmap, driving adoption and sustainable growth across diverse business units while ensuring alignment with organisational priorities.
  • Lead architecture oversight, platform governance, and responsible AI frameworks to meet regulatory requirements and deliver reliable, scalable solutions that support critical financial use cases.
  • Collaborate closely with senior stakeholders and cross-functional teams to translate complex business needs into robust platform capabilities, fostering a culture of operational excellence and continuous improvement.

What you'll do:

As an AI Director based in Taipei, you will play a central role in shaping how artificial intelligence transforms the organisation’s operations. Your day-to-day responsibilities will involve setting the strategic direction for the enterprise AI platform while collaborating with senior executives to ensure alignment with broader business objectives. You will oversee architectural decisions that underpin scalable solutions across multiple regions and functions. By establishing robust governance models for model lifecycle management and responsible AI practices, you will help safeguard compliance while enabling innovation. Your ability to foster cross-functional partnerships will be essential as you translate complex requirements into actionable platform capabilities. Success in this position means not only delivering measurable improvements in efficiency and risk reduction but also nurturing a high-performing engineering team committed to operational excellence.

  • Define and own the vision, roadmap, and operating model for the enterprise AI platform across all business units, ensuring strategic alignment with organisational goals.
  • Drive investment planning by prioritising initiatives based on ROI evaluation and long-term value creation for the company.
  • Establish scalable platform standards that promote reuse, adoption, and sustainable growth throughout the organisation.
  • Oversee the architecture of backend platforms and multi-agent orchestration frameworks to ensure technical robustness and future-readiness.
  • Set enterprise standards for LLMOps / AgentOps, model lifecycle management, deployment governance, and evaluation processes to maintain consistency and quality.
  • Ensure all AI services meet stringent performance, reliability, cost-efficiency, scalability, and resilience requirements as demanded by the business.
  • Govern data storage solutions, vector search capabilities, workflow orchestration tools, API services, and distributed systems supporting advanced AI workloads.
  • Lead Responsible AI initiatives by developing Model Risk Management frameworks that comply with regulatory standards and internal controls.
  • Partner with Risk, Compliance, Legal, Security, and Audit teams to proactively manage regulatory, operational, and reputational risks associated with AI adoption.
  • Act as a strategic advisor to senior leadership by presenting platform strategy updates, risk posture assessments, and progress reports to executive committees.

What you bring:

To excel as an AI Director in this organisation you will bring extensive experience from senior roles within artificial intelligence or large-scale technology environments—ideally within regulated sectors such as financial services. Your background should include designing strategic roadmaps for enterprise platforms while managing both technical delivery teams and stakeholder relationships at an executive level. You are adept at translating intricate technical challenges into clear recommendations that resonate with non-technical audiences. Your understanding of cloud-native architectures combined with hands-on knowledge of distributed databases ensures you can guide architectural decisions confidently. A history of implementing robust governance structures around model lifecycle management—and partnering effectively with compliance/risk/audit teams—will set you apart. Above all else your collaborative spirit enables you to build consensus across regions/functions while nurturing talent development within your team.

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related disciplines is required for this role.
  • At least 10 years of experience working within AI/ML domains or large-scale backend systems/platform engineering environments is essential.
  • A minimum of 5 years in leadership roles overseeing technology platforms or architecture within regulated industries such as financial services is highly desirable.
  • Demonstrated ability to define enterprise-level AI strategies along with governance models that align with organisational risk frameworks is crucial.
  • Proven track record communicating complex technical concepts clearly to senior executives across business functions is necessary for success.
  • Experience operating cloud-native platforms using containerised/orchestrated services alongside distributed databases (relational/NoSQL/vector) is preferred.
  • Familiarity with model lifecycle management platforms including observability/monitoring/telemetry tools adds significant value.
  • Hands-on exposure to infrastructure automation (CI/CD), secure data/key management systems or modern developer tooling would be advantageous.
  • Experience leading cross-regional teams or scaling platforms across multiple business units demonstrates your collaborative approach.
  • Nice-to-have: Experience in banking/fintech/capital markets; exposure to model risk governance/regulatory engagement/internal audit; familiarity with multi-agent orchestration or LLM-driven production systems.
