What you'll do:

As an AI Application Engineer, you will immerse yourself in designing backend infrastructure tailored for advanced multi-agent system architectures. Your day-to-day activities will involve optimising prompts for large language models (LLMs), managing LLMOps/AgentOps pipelines for seamless model operations, integrating databases such as RDBs and NoSQL solutions, and ensuring smooth integration between AI models and other platform elements. You will troubleshoot backend challenges proactively while collaborating with global teams including Data Engineers and Data Scientists. • Design, develop, and maintain robust backend infrastructure for an advanced AI platform with a focus on multi-agent system architecture to ensure seamless operation and scalability.
• Develop and optimise prompts for large language models (LLMs) and other AI models, ensuring high performance and relevance for diverse business applications.

• Troubleshoot and resolve backend issues related to AI systems, maintaining high standards of performance, reliability, and scalability at all times.
• Collaborate closely with Data Engineers, Data Scientists, and other stakeholders to define requirements and deliver innovative AI-powered solutions that meet business objectives.
• Partner with cross-functional teams globally, effectively communicating platform updates and technical concepts to ensure alignment across regions.

• Hold a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related fields which provides a solid foundation for advanced technical work.
• Bring at least five years of hands-on experience in AI or machine learning engineering roles where you have delivered impactful solutions.
• Demonstrate proficiency in Python programming with proven experience developing backends for AI/ML applications using clean code principles.
• Possess practical knowledge of agent technologies including production-grade agentic AI systems featuring secure retrieval mechanisms, multimodal applications, orchestration strategies, context engineering (prompting/memory/knowledge), RAG frameworks, MCP protocols, SQL querying skills for effective data management.
• Showcase hands-on experience with cloud environments such as GCP (including hybrid setups with on-premises data centres), AWS or Azure; familiarity with GKE & GCE (RedHat), Vertex AI is highly valued.
• Have worked extensively with agentic frameworks like ADK or n8n as well as agentic protocols such as MCP/A2A/AG-UI/A2UI; experience integrating Redis/Firestore/PostgreSQL/Qdrant databases is advantageous.
• Understand data technologies including GCP Cloud Composer (Airflow), BigQuery, Kafka Ecosystem (Confluent Cloud/Debezium/Qlik), Informatica or Power BI for comprehensive data pipeline management.
• Utilise monitoring tools such as Langfuse/LGTM/GCP Monitoring/OTel alongside CI/CD pipelines powered by GitHub Actions; apply Infrastructure as Code practices using Terraform.
• Apply security best practices involving VPC SC & Policy Tags/CMEK/Vault while deploying containerised solutions via Docker/Kubernetes environments.
