Senior Data Scientist
Salary: Competitive and based on experience
Location: Taipei City
Keywords: Data Science, data-driven, collaborative, customer journey, privacy-preserving, marketing automation, recommendation systems
What you'll do:
- Design comprehensive Customer Data Platform data models that seamlessly integrate multi-source data including web, app, and social media streams to enable sophisticated marketing automation.
- Develop robust recommendation systems, user segmentation strategies, and churn prediction models using state-of-the-art technologies such as Transformer architectures, Graph Neural Networks, LightGBM, or PyTorch while ensuring experiment tracking through MLflow.
- Plan, execute, and analyse A/B tests or multi-armed bandit experiments to rigorously validate the impact of new products and marketing initiatives, iterating on models to enhance user retention and revenue generation.
- Collaborate closely with marketing, product management, and engineering teams to advance key data-driven projects and ensure alignment with organisational goals.
- Present complex algorithmic findings and their business impact clearly to senior leadership and stakeholders in an accessible manner.
- Ensure all data processing activities comply with GDPR/CCPA regulations by building secure and privacy-preserving data models that protect user information.
- Optimise existing data pipelines for scalability and efficiency within cloud-based environments such as Databricks, Snowflake, BigQuery, or Redshift.
- Drive continuous improvement by monitoring model performance in production environments and implementing enhancements based on real-world feedback.
- Contribute to the development of MLOps workflows using tools like MLflow/Kubeflow, Kubernetes, Docker, and CI/CD pipelines for seamless deployment of machine learning solutions.
What you bring:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Mathematics, Statistics or a related field is required; an advanced degree (Master’s/PhD) in Data Science or AI is highly desirable especially if accompanied by publications or patents in machine learning.
- At least 5–7 years of hands-on experience in large-scale data engineering or processing roles within e-commerce environments focusing on user behaviour and transaction datasets.
- Proficiency in Python programming along with deep familiarity with modern data science libraries such as Polars, NumPy, scikit-learn; expertise in machine learning frameworks like LightGBM, TensorFlow or PyTorch is essential.
- Demonstrated ability to build recommendation engines, perform user segmentation analysis and predict churn using advanced modelling techniques including Transformers and GNNs.
- Solid grounding in statistics and machine learning theory coupled with practical experience applying causal inference methods for marketing attribution.
- Extensive experience designing and analysing A/B tests or multi-armed bandit experiments for product validation purposes.
- Strong background integrating Customer Data Platforms (CDPs) with a focus on optimising customer journeys through personalisation strategies.
- Familiarity with cloud-based analytics platforms such as Databricks, Snowflake, BigQuery or Redshift; proven ability to optimise large-scale data models for performance at scale.
- Hands-on experience implementing MLOps workflows using MLflow/Kubeflow alongside containerisation tools like Kubernetes/Docker plus CI/CD pipelines for automated deployment.
