Senior Data Scientist

What you'll do:

  • Design and deploy tailored recommendation models and other predictive systems that address specific business needs and enhance user experiences across digital products.
  • Build comprehensive end-to-end machine learning pipelines encompassing feature engineering, model training, optimisation, deployment, and ongoing monitoring to ensure robust performance.
  • Establish frameworks for tracking performance across critical growth metrics such as user engagement, conversion rates, and retention, providing clear visibility into the impact of your solutions.
  • Collaborate closely with engineering teams to seamlessly integrate machine learning solutions into large-scale production systems, ensuring reliability and scalability.
  • Translate complex business goals into practical, data-driven solutions by leveraging your analytical skills and understanding of organisational objectives.
  • Apply advanced statistical methods and machine learning algorithms to extract meaningful patterns from high-volume datasets, supporting strategic decision-making processes.
  • Work alongside analysts to interpret results, validate models, and communicate findings in a way that is accessible to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Continuously evaluate new tools, frameworks, and methodologies in the field of data science to enhance existing workflows and maintain best practices within the team.
  • Contribute to the development of internal documentation and knowledge-sharing sessions to foster a culture of continuous learning among colleagues.
  • Participate in cross-functional meetings to align project objectives with broader company strategies, ensuring that data science initiatives are fully integrated into overall business plans.

What you bring:

  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience working in areas such as recommendation systems, search technologies, advertising analytics or fraud detection within high-volume environments.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Python along with hands-on experience using essential data libraries for analysis and modelling tasks.
  • Practical expertise with leading machine learning or deep learning frameworks such as TensorFlow or PyTorch for developing scalable models.
  • Familiarity with distributed data processing tools including Spark, Hive, Ray or MapReduce for handling large datasets efficiently.
  • A solid grounding in algorithms, statistics and core software engineering principles relevant to modern data science applications.
  • Excellent communication skills combined with a proven ability to collaborate effectively within multidisciplinary teams.
  • Experience working on large-scale recommender or search platforms is highly desirable for this position.
  • Knowledge of deep learning-based recommendation models would be advantageous when tackling complex prediction problems.
  • Exposure to API development practices as well as cloud services like AWS or GCP can further strengthen your candidacy.
  • Familiarity with containerisation technologies (such as Docker) plus experience experimenting with LLMs or modern ML frameworks is considered beneficial.
