What you'll do:

As Head of Artificial Intelligence and Data based in Taipei City, you will play a central role in shaping the future of technology within a regulated financial services environment. Your day-to-day responsibilities will involve setting strategic direction for all AI initiatives—translating high-level business goals into detailed execution plans that deliver measurable results. You will oversee multidisciplinary teams tasked with designing scalable architectures for modern data platforms while ensuring every solution meets stringent security and compliance standards. By embedding agile methodologies across engineering squads, you will accelerate innovation cycles without compromising on quality or governance. Your leadership will be instrumental in transitioning experimental prototypes into robust production deployments that enhance employee productivity and elevate customer experiences. Through close partnership with business stakeholders and risk functions alike, you will ensure seamless adoption of new technologies while managing budgets effectively to maximise return on investment.   • Define and execute an AI-first strategy that aligns with enterprise business priorities, transforming strategic objectives into actionable portfolios and delivery roadmaps.
  • Lead cross-functional AI product squads focused on supporting core financial operations, distribution networks, and customer experience enhancements to ensure rapid adoption and value realisation.
  • Provide architectural oversight for enterprise-scale AI and data platforms, guaranteeing scalability, security, reliability, and full regulatory compliance throughout the solution lifecycle.
  • Take accountability for end-to-end delivery of AI and data solutions at scale—from initial design through production deployment to ongoing lifecycle management.
  • Own the development of enterprise data architecture including lakehouse design, feature stores, streaming pipelines, enforcing robust data contracts and quality standards.
  • Implement comprehensive MLOps practices such as CI/CD for models, performance monitoring, drift detection, rollback strategies, and observability to maintain operational excellence.
  • Establish frameworks for responsible AI including explainability protocols, fairness assessments, human-in-the-loop controls, and transparent governance mechanisms.
  • Collaborate closely with Information Security and Risk teams to embed secure AI patterns, privacy-by-design principles, and ensure adherence to all regulatory mandates.
  • Modernise legacy technology stacks by integrating advanced AI capabilities into digital platforms that support both customer-facing and advisor experiences.
  • Recruit, develop, mentor and coach technical leaders across multiple disciplines while nurturing an outcome-oriented engineering culture committed to continuous improvement.

Your proven ability to recruit talented professionals across multiple disciplines ensures your teams are equipped to tackle complex challenges collaboratively. With strong interpersonal skills you naturally build trust among stakeholders ranging from engineers to C-suite executives—facilitating smooth adoption of new technologies organisation-wide. Your academic credentials underpin your technical authority while your passion for nurturing talent drives ongoing professional growth within your teams.   • Over 15 years’ experience in technology leadership roles with at least 5 years in senior or executive positions overseeing large-scale transformation programmes.
  • Demonstrated track record leading production-grade AI solution development within highly regulated financial services environments where compliance is paramount.
  • Deep hands-on familiarity with modern AI platforms such as Databricks as well as cloud-based machine learning tools (e.g., AWS SageMaker), feature stores, Kubernetes orchestration systems.
  • Proven expertise implementing comprehensive frameworks for AI governance including model risk management protocols aligned with industry regulations.
  • Extensive understanding of financial services operations coupled with knowledge of relevant regulatory considerations impacting technology delivery.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related discipline; Master’s or PhD preferred for advanced technical depth.
  • Experience building high-performing teams from inception through scale-up phases—recruiting top talent across product management, ML engineering, data engineering and MLOps specialisms.
  • Ability to foster a collaborative culture centred on engineering excellence where continuous improvement is encouraged at every level.
  • Strong interpersonal skills enabling effective partnership with information security teams as well as business leaders driving change management initiatives.
  • Exceptional communication abilities allowing you to translate complex technical concepts into clear business value propositions for diverse audiences.
