Save job

Software Engineering Manager – AI Vision / Embedded Systems Keywords: collaborative, supportive leadership, flexible working opportunities, global team, inclusive culture, growth leadership A leading AI-powered quality control technology company is seeking a Software Engineering Manager to spearhead the growth and development of their engineering hub in Taipei City. This is an exceptional opportunity to play a pivotal role in shaping world-class industrial AI vision products used by manufacturers globally. You will be responsible not only for people leadership, but also for owning products end-to-end—from definition and execution through delivery and scale. This role places a strong emphasis on embedded systems exposure, particularly within hardware-integrated products such as cameras or edge devices. While experience with camera-related technologies is valuable, practical embedded software experience is considered more critical than highly algorithmic or ISP-focused backgrounds. The organisation offers a collaborative and inclusive environment, competitive compensation, equity, and flexible working opportunities—ideal for leaders who enjoy being hands-on while growing high-performing teams.

What you’ll do

As Software Engineering Manager, you will operate at the intersection of people leadership, technical ownership, and cross-border collaboration. You will empower engineers through mentorship while remaining deeply connected to the technical realities of embedded and hardware-integrated products.

  • Lead, mentor, and grow a small-to-mid-sized engineering team, fostering a culture of ownership, collaboration, and continuous improvement

  • Own embedded software products end-to-end, from feature definition and prioritisation through delivery, maintenance, and scale

  • Drive execution of feature roadmaps across multiple camera platforms, including backporting and cross-product alignment

  • Work closely with global engineering and product teams across Taiwan, Brazil, mainland China, and the US to ensure alignment and smooth delivery

  • Establish and maintain clear release structures, sprint processes, and quality standards

  • Act as a hands-on technical leader when needed, even while operating in a managerial capacity

  • Support customer-facing teams by ensuring product readiness, stability, and consistency across deployments

  • Travel regularly to mainland China (approximately two weeks per quarter) to collaborate with partners, factories, or engineering stakeholders

What you bring

  • Strong embedded systems and hardware-integrated product experience; camera-related experience is a plus, but embedded exposure is the priority

  • Proven experience owning products end-to-end, not just managing tasks or teams

  • Background building and leading engineering teams, including hiring and developing engineers

  • A mix of experience across both startups/small teams and larger organisations, with more recent exposure to lean or fast-moving teams preferred

  • Hands-on technical experience, even if currently or previously in a managerial role

  • Solid understanding of software release processes, sprint management, and delivery metrics

  • Ability to communicate clearly and confidently in English, both written and verbal, within a global engineering environment

  • Comfortable working across cultures and time zones, with a collaborative and pragmatic leadership style

  • Willingness and ability to travel frequently to mainland China as part of the role

What sets this company apart

This organisation is a recognised leader in AI-driven industrial quality control, trusted by over 150 factories worldwide. Its global footprint across APAC, LATAM, and North America creates a uniquely diverse and collaborative working environment. Leaders are encouraged to remain close to the product and the people, supported by a culture that values inclusivity, flexibility, and long-term growth.

You’ll join a company where engineering leadership has real influence, where products are deployed at scale in real-world manufacturing environments, and where your work directly impacts how quality is measured and improved worldwide.

What’s next

If you’re excited by the challenge of leading embedded-focused engineering teams, owning real products, and collaborating across global markets—this is an opportunity to make a meaningful impact.

Apply today and take the next step in shaping the future of industrial AI.
