【Software Startup】COO

Our client is seeking a Chief Operating Officer (COO) to join their team. This is a partner-level role designed for an individual who can translate strategy into system and ambition into structure. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to shape the future of a new tech category, build a high-performance operational engine from the ground up, and scale a Taiwan-born platform to global markets.

What you'll do:

As the Chief Operating Officer (COO), you will be instrumental in driving execution rhythm within the organisation. Your role will involve translating strategies into actionable plans while removing any obstacles that may hinder progress. You will be responsible for designing workflows that foster faster collaboration and clearer decision-making. Your leadership skills will be crucial in supporting various department heads in achieving their goals with precision and accountability. As part of your mandate to help the company scale from its current size of 30 to over 150 employees, you will recruit, build, and mentor teams. You will also establish scalable processes for international expansion, remote operations, and entry into multiple markets.

• Build and scale internal operations across product, business, sales, customer service, and engineering
• Translate strategy into actionable plans, remove blockers, and keep the entire company aligned week to week
• Design and optimize workflows that enhance collaboration and decision-making
• Support cross-department leadership in reaching goals with precision and accountability
• Recruit, build and mentor teams, helping the company scale from 30 to 150+ without losing momentum
• Establish scalable processes for international expansion, remote ops, and multi-market entry
• Own operational data, reporting, and infrastructure to support future fundraising and global growth

What you bring:

The ideal candidate for this Chief Operating Officer (COO) position brings along a wealth of operational leadership experience garnered over at least seven years in fast-growing startups or product-led tech companies. You have previously led or assisted in scaling a company across multiple departments and regions. Your ability to remain calm under pressure and maintain structure amidst chaos will be highly valued. You understand how to build scalable systems that empower, not slow down, teams. Your strong mediation skills will enable you to work well with product, tech, and business leaders across diverse functions. Fluency in both English and Mandarin is a must for this role.

• 7+ years of operational leadership experience in fast-growing startups or product-led tech companies
• Proven track record of scaling a company across multiple departments and regions
• Ability to remain calm under pressure and structured in chaos
• Experience in building scalable systems that empower teams
• Strong mediation skills across diverse functions
• Decisiveness, focus, and ability to say “no” when necessary to protect team’s clarity
• Fluency in both English and Mandarin (written and spoken)
• Bonus: Experience in SaaS, platform, spatial, or data-driven tech businesses
