[Risk Analytics] Engineering Manager
Our client is seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to lead their Foundation Services team. This role offers the opportunity to manage a high-performing engineering team and contribute to building reliable, scalable, and high-performance core functionalities for their cloud-based services.
What you'll do:
As an Engineering Manager, you will play a pivotal role in managing an engineering team responsible for architecting and designing services that provide reliable, scalable, and high-performance core functionalities for our client's cloud-based services. You will collaborate closely with product managers and architects to lead the design, development, and delivery of key foundation services operating across numerous global data centres. Your commitment to maintaining product resiliency and sustainability will be crucial in this role. Furthermore, your ability to enable teams to build well-designed quality software while establishing best practices in software development will be highly valued.
- Manage, coach, mentor and encourage the growth and career progress of team members.
- Collaborate with product managers and architects to lead the design, development and delivery of key foundation services running in 80+ data centres globally.
- Maintain and increase product resiliency and sustainability.
- Enable teams to build well-designed quality software.
- Establish best practices and code hygiene in software development.
What you bring:
The ideal candidate for the Engineering Manager position brings a wealth of relevant work experience, including at least two years in a managerial role. You have a proven track record of building high-performance teams and are proficient in defining effective engineering processes. Your experience with Kubernetes, GCP/AWS cloud solutions, and developing and maintaining distributed cloud services sets you apart. With programming mastery in Go, Python or Java, you understand computer architecture including multi-threading, CPU scheduling, memory management. Your ability to suggest coding best practices and bring effective code review feedback is essential. Strong verbal and written communication skills are a must.
- A minimum of 10+ years of relevant work experience with 2+ years in a managerial role.
- Proven history of building high-performance teams.
- Proficiency in defining effective engineering processes.
- Experience with Kubernetes.
- Experience with GCP/AWS cloud solutions.
- Experience developing and maintaining distributed cloud services.
- Programming mastery in Go, Python or Java.
