What you'll do:

  • Guide and mentor a diverse team of software engineers to deliver robust, scalable solutions that meet business objectives and exceed quality expectations.
  • Design and implement cloud-native microservices architectures while refactoring legacy applications to ensure seamless integration with modern platforms.
  • Oversee all aspects of task management including sprint planning, release scheduling, and deployment coordination to maintain efficient workflows.
  • Establish and uphold best practices in software development by implementing effective CI/CD pipelines and maintaining rigorous quality standards throughout the lifecycle.
  • Evaluate emerging technologies and introduce new tools or frameworks that enhance team capabilities and improve product performance.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams such as product management, operations, and quality assurance to align technical solutions with strategic goals.
  • Foster an inclusive team culture that values open communication, mutual support, and continuous learning through regular feedback sessions and coaching.
  • Monitor project progress using data-driven metrics to identify areas for improvement and ensure timely delivery of key milestones.
  • Champion DevOps methodologies by integrating automation into build, test, and deployment processes for increased reliability and efficiency.

What you bring:

  • A minimum of 3 years’ experience as an Engineering Manager leading teams of ten or more engineers through end-to-end software development cycles including testing, deployment, and ongoing operations.
  • Comprehensive understanding of cloud-native architectures with hands-on experience designing microservices using containerisation technologies such as Kubernetes, Istio, Argo alongside databases like MongoDB or Redis.
  • Proven track record implementing DevOps practices including automated CI/CD pipelines that streamline build, test, release processes while upholding high quality standards.
  • Demonstrated ability to solve complex engineering challenges through analytical thinking combined with practical technical leadership skills.
  • Exceptional people management abilities encompassing motivation techniques, coaching methods, performance evaluation strategies aimed at developing high-performing teams.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills enabling effective collaboration across cross-functional groups including product managers, QA specialists, operations staff within multicultural environments.
  • Strong organisational skills for managing multiple projects simultaneously without compromising attention to detail or delivery timelines.
