What you'll do:

As a Software Architect based in Taipei, you will be entrusted with shaping the backbone of an advanced voice communication ecosystem. Your day-to-day responsibilities will involve designing resilient VoIP platforms from the ground up while ensuring seamless integration between backend services, web servers/APIs, databases, and AI-driven IVR modules. You will work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to deliver solutions that are not only technically sound but also tailored to meet evolving business needs. By leveraging your deep understanding of cloud infrastructure—particularly AWS and Azure—you will help scale applications efficiently while maintaining high standards for reliability. Your proactive approach to monitoring system health and addressing potential bottlenecks will be crucial in sustaining exceptional call quality. Through your efforts in continuous improvement projects and operational maintenance tasks, you will contribute significantly to the ongoing success of the platform.

  • Design comprehensive VoIP and chat platforms that ensure high reliability, scalability, and superior call quality for users across diverse environments.
  • Develop, implement, and manage backend services as well as web/API servers to support seamless integration with telephony systems and user-facing applications.
  • Optimise and maintain both SQL and NoSQL databases by designing effective schemas, improving query performance, and managing data models for call details and session information.
  • Build, integrate, and sustain AI-powered Interactive Voice Response (IVR) applications that enhance user experience through natural language interaction and intelligent automation.
  • Continuously monitor system performance metrics, tune configurations for optimal operation, and proactively address any issues affecting voice quality or service availability.
  • Collaborate with product managers, QA engineers, DevOps specialists, frontend developers, support staff, and external partners to deliver robust solutions aligned with business goals.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field—or equivalent practical experience demonstrating technical proficiency in software architecture roles.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of VoIP/telephony protocols such as SIP, RTP, WebRTC; experience with session handling, trunking setups, codec selection for optimal media transmission.
  • Proven track record in backend development using languages like Python, Java or C/C++, coupled with expertise in API design (REST/WebSocket) for seamless system integration.
  • Advanced competence with both SQL and NoSQL database systems including schema design best practices, query optimisation techniques, data modelling strategies for call/session management.
  • Hands-on experience deploying web/API servers within Linux environments; familiarity with containerisation technologies (e.g., Docker), server operations management practices focused on scaling/reliability.
  • Exceptional problem-solving abilities demonstrated by debugging complex multi-layered issues across network/protocol/media/application domains; adept at root-cause analysis followed by effective remediation.
  • Excellent English communication skills enabling smooth collaboration with cross-functional teams (product management/QA/devops/frontend/support) as well as coordination with external carriers/vendors when necessary.
  • Experience developing or integrating AI-IVR solutions utilising natural language processing or machine learning frameworks is highly desirable but not mandatory.
  • Familiarity with high-availability deployments involving load balancing/horizontal scaling/container orchestration (Kubernetes) or cloud infrastructure management is considered advantageous.
  • Certifications or hands-on exposure within telecom/network/VoIP domains—such as SBCs/media gateways/PSTN integration/PBX/UC systems (Asterisk/FreeSWITCH/OpenSIPS/Kamailio)—will further strengthen your application.
