What you'll do:

As a Principal Engineer, your role will be pivotal in setting the architectural design and strategic technical directions for the Secure Service Mesh team. You will be responsible for understanding requirement specifications, designing high-quality features that ensure reliability, sustainability, scalability, and observability for data plane. Your expertise in building scalable services using advanced data structures and algorithms in C, C++, Golang will be crucial in inspecting various network protocols at line rate. Furthermore, you will integrate these services with other features like IPS, DLP, Threat protection, and other ML services.

• Setting and driving the overall architectural design and strategic technical directions for the Secure Service Mesh team.
• Understanding requirement specs and designing and implementing high-quality features that ensure reliability, sustainability, scalability and observability for data plane.
• Working with Product Management to understand customer requirements and provide architectural guidance.
• Providing technical leadership by sharing and adapting industry leading practices for the benefit of the company.
• Building scalable and performant services that inspect various network protocols at line rate using advanced data structures and algorithms in C, C++, Golang.
• Integrating with other features like IPS, DLP and Threat protection and other ML services.

What you bring:

The ideal candidate for the Principal Engineer role brings a wealth of experience in building high-performance networking software and cloud services. You possess expertise in datapath high efficient packets processing or high performant service mesh in C++ or Golang. Your experience extends to building high throughput and low latency data systems. A strong understanding of computer architecture – multi-threading, CPU scheduling, memory management with practical knowledge of Linux at system/kernel level is essential. Your strong communication skills and ability to handle complex customer issues will be key in this role. Furthermore, your willingness to work with a globally distributed team in different time zones will be highly valued.

• 15+ years of overall experience including 10+ years of experience building high-performance networking software and cloud services.
• Expertise in datapath high efficient packets processing or high performant service mesh in C++ or Golang.
• Experience in building high throughput and low latency data systems.
• Strong understanding of computer architecture – multi-threading, CPU scheduling, memory management with practical knowledge of Linux at system/kernel level.
• Experience handling complex customer issues.
• Strong communication skills with ability to negotiate skillfully.
• Willingness to work with a globally distributed team in different time zones.
