What you'll do:
- Guide a talented team in performing comprehensive SoC- and system-level performance and power analysis as well as optimisation throughout the product lifecycle.
- Collaborate closely with hardware, firmware, software, and architecture teams to drive initiatives that enhance both performance and power efficiency across multiple projects.
- Mentor team members by providing technical guidance, nurturing their growth, and assisting them in overcoming complex engineering challenges.
- Conduct detailed profiling, measurement, and optimisation of performance and power metrics to ensure products meet stringent design goals at every stage of development.
- Develop, implement, and deploy advanced methodologies, tools, and frameworks that support robust power and performance analysis for current and future products.
- Identify critical system bottlenecks using analytical approaches, resolving issues efficiently while promoting adoption of new technologies such as DVFS, low-power design techniques, and resource management strategies.
- Optimise Windows Processor Power Management (PPM) settings specifically for Windows on ARM platforms to achieve superior performance-power tradeoffs.
- Tune Windows Power Management configurations across various use cases to maximise overall system efficiency without compromising user experience.
- Provide clear technical communication and customer support regarding system power-related topics, ensuring stakeholders are informed and satisfied with solutions.
What you bring:
- Bachelor's degree or above in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related fields is required for this position.
- At least 10 years of hands-on experience in SoC/system performance and power optimisation is essential along with 3+ years in management or technical leadership roles.
- Proven track record in CPU/GPU/SoC product development is highly preferred for candidates seeking this opportunity.
- Comprehensive understanding of SoC architecture including ARM/x86 platforms as well as operating systems such as Android, Linux, or Windows is necessary.
- Proficiency with industry-standard performance and power analysis tools like perf, trace utilities, power profilers, or power modelling software is expected.
- Demonstrated experience implementing DVFS strategies, low-power design principles, and effective system resource management techniques is vital.
- Exceptional analytical skills enabling you to identify system bottlenecks accurately while proposing practical optimisation solutions are required.
- Familiarity with Windows on ARM (WoA) platform combined with experience tuning Windows PPM settings would be advantageous for this role.
- In-depth knowledge of Windows Power Management architecture including policies, states, driver interactions, and OS frameworks is considered a plus.
- Experience developing or tuning Windows power management drivers (such as ACPI or PEP) along with expertise in configuring power policies for optimal profiles is desirable.
