Principal Digital IC Design Engineer

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Digital Design and Verification Engineer with a proven track record in digital design, verification, and infrastructure development for FPGAs and ASICs. This role requires a blend of technical expertise and leadership skills, including project management and oversight of PMICs, working collaboratively with multi-disciplinary teams to design key aspects of ASIC/power management ICs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and support chip/digital level architecture and functional blocks.
  • Provide technical documentation, including specifications, block diagrams, and requirements.
  • Collaborate with various departments to tackle product issues in design and application.
  • Develop system and chip level simulation verification techniques and methodologies.
  • Lead digital design (RTL) from concept to implementation for ASICs or FPGAs.
  • Guide the development of test plans, test benches, and automated test cases for digital verification.
  • Manage synthesis, timing closure, and formal verification processes.
  • Create scripts to support design and verification automation.
  • Estimate and manage task completion to meet target schedules.


  • MSEE or PhD in Electrical Engineering with a focus on Digital Design/VLSI coursework.
  • 9+ years of experience in design and verification of ASICs or FPGAs.
  • Experience with power management DC-DC converters and control topologies (e.g., PWM control, constant-on-time control, voltage/current mode controls).
  • Skilled in using standard digital verification languages such as Verilog, SystemVerilog, and UVM.
  • Experience in developing automated regression test cases and reporting coverage metrics.
  • Skilled in programming, scripting, and automation languages (C/C++, shell, Perl, TCL, Python, etc.).
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the full ASIC Design Flow, including specification definition, RTL verification, synthesis, place and route (P&R), power estimation and simulation, etc.
  • Proficient in using industry-standard ASIC tools/flows, including digital simulators, synthesis tools, DFT, LEC, STA, etc.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and a proven ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

Preferred Experience:

  • Familiarity with automotive standards and functional safety (FuSA).
  • Experience with communication protocols such as I2C, I3C, SPI, USB, PMBUS, I2S, CAN, LIN.
  • Experience with embedded MCU (ARM/RISC-V) designs and/or SoC development.
