A leading technology organisation is seeking a CAD Engineer in Taipei or Hsinchu. You will support semiconductor projects involving analog and physical design flow, IR/EM sign-off, flip-chip design, and physical verification. This role offers a collaborative, supportive environment with flexible working and ongoing training to help you grow your technical expertise and advance your career.

Salary: Competitive and based on experience

Location: Taipei/ Hsinchu

Keywords: collaborative, supportive leadership, flexible working opportunities, training opportunities, dependable, inclusive

  • Work on advanced semiconductor projects with a focus on analog and physical design flows, IR/EM sign-off, flip-chip design, or physical verification flow, allowing you to specialise in your area of strength.
  • Enjoy flexible working opportunities and access to continuous training programmes designed to support your professional development and keep you at the forefront of industry advancements.
  • Join a dependable and inclusive team environment where supportive leadership encourages collaboration, knowledge sharing, and personal growth.

What you'll do:

As a CAD Engineer based in either Taipei or Hsinchu, you will play an integral role in driving forward key semiconductor projects. Your day-to-day activities will involve developing scripts for analog and physical design flows, collaborating with colleagues on IR/EM sign-off procedures, contributing technical expertise to flip-chip design efforts, and refining physical verification processes. Success in this position requires not only technical proficiency but also a willingness to share knowledge with others, participate actively in team discussions, and support less experienced engineers as they grow. By engaging fully with both the technical challenges and the communal aspects of the role, you will help ensure that every project meets high standards for quality while fostering an environment where everyone can thrive.

  • Develop and maintain scripts for analog and physical design flows to optimise project efficiency and accuracy across multiple semiconductor designs.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure successful IR/EM sign-off processes are completed according to project specifications and timelines.
  • Contribute to flip-chip design initiatives by providing technical input and supporting the integration of new methodologies into existing workflows.
  • Participate in the creation and refinement of physical verification flows, ensuring all designs meet rigorous quality standards before final sign-off.
  • Troubleshoot complex issues related to design flow automation, working together with colleagues to identify solutions that enhance overall productivity.
  • Document best practices for each aspect of the design process, sharing insights with team members to foster a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Support junior engineers through mentoring and guidance, helping them develop their skills in analog design, physical verification, or flip-chip technologies.
  • Engage in regular knowledge-sharing sessions with other engineers to stay updated on emerging trends and techniques within the field.
  • Assist project managers by providing accurate progress updates on assigned tasks and proactively identifying potential risks or bottlenecks.
  • Contribute ideas for process improvements that promote efficiency, reliability, and inclusivity throughout the engineering department.

What you bring:

To succeed as a CAD Engineer in this organisation, you will bring proven experience in one or more areas such as analog or physical design flow development, IR/EM sign-off procedures, flip-chip design integration, or physical verification methodologies. Your background may include hands-on use of EDA tools like Cadence or Synopsys as well as scripting languages such as Python or TCL. Beyond technical expertise, your ability to communicate clearly with colleagues from various disciplines will be essential for building strong working relationships. You should feel comfortable sharing your insights during team meetings and offering guidance to junior staff when needed. A genuine interest in learning new skills through formal training opportunities will further enhance your contribution. By combining deep subject matter knowledge with empathy and a collaborative spirit, you will help drive both individual projects and broader organisational goals forward.

  • Experience with analog or physical design flow development using industry-standard EDA tools such as Cadence or Synopsys is highly desirable for this role.
  • Proficiency in script development (e.g., Python, TCL) for automating complex engineering workflows will enable you to excel in daily responsibilities.
  • Familiarity with IR/EM sign-off processes including power integrity analysis ensures you can contribute effectively to critical project milestones.
  • Knowledge of flip-chip design principles and hands-on experience integrating these into semiconductor projects will be beneficial.
  • Understanding of physical verification flows including DRC/LVS checks using tools like Mentor Graphics Calibre supports high-quality deliverables.
  • Ability to troubleshoot technical issues collaboratively within a team setting demonstrates your commitment to shared success.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills allow you to work harmoniously with colleagues from diverse backgrounds.
  • A passion for mentoring junior engineers reflects your dedication to nurturing talent within the organisation.
  • Strong documentation abilities help maintain clarity across all stages of the engineering process.
  • Willingness to participate in ongoing training programmes shows your enthusiasm for personal growth.
