This role focuses on high-speed chip-to-chip interface PHY design, including UCIe and custom die-to-die links. Join a collaborative team that values technical excellence, knowledge sharing, and continuous learning. Ideal for candidates passionate about mixed-signal design and next-generation data center technologies.

Salary: Competitive and based on experience

Location: Hsinchu

Keywords: analogue design, SerDes, data centre, UCIe standard, chip to chip interface, high-speed circuit, mixed-mode circuit, HBM/DDR/LPDDR PHY

  • Work at the forefront of analogue PHY circuit design for advanced data centre solutions, contributing to both industry-standard and customised projects.
  • Join a knowledgeable and dependable team that prioritises collaboration, ongoing training opportunities, and inclusive professional development.
  • Enjoy flexible working arrangements in a supportive environment that values your interpersonal skills and commitment to technical excellence.

What you'll do:

As an Analogue Design Engineer for Data Centre and SerDes Applications, you will immerse yourself in the full lifecycle of analogue PHY circuit development. Your day-to-day responsibilities will involve collaborating with talented colleagues across multiple disciplines to deliver innovative solutions for chip-to-chip interfaces using both industry-standard protocols like UCIe and custom-designed links. You will play a pivotal role in integrating HBM/DDR/LPDDR technologies into sophisticated systems while ensuring each design meets rigorous performance benchmarks. Success in this role requires not only technical proficiency but also a willingness to share knowledge, support peers, and maintain meticulous documentation throughout every stage of the project. By actively participating in post-silicon activities such as bring-up and debugging, you will help ensure seamless transitions from concept through production.

  • Design and develop chip-to-chip interface analogue PHY circuits, focusing on UCIe standards as well as custom die-to-die link solutions tailored for high-performance data centres.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate HBM, DDR, and LPDDR analogue PHY circuits into complex system architectures, ensuring optimal performance and reliability.
  • Engage in mixed-mode and high-speed circuit design activities, applying your expertise to create robust solutions that meet stringent industry requirements.
  • Participate in schematic capture, layout review, simulation, verification, and validation processes to ensure the highest quality of analogue circuit implementations.
  • Contribute to the definition of technical specifications by working closely with system architects and digital designers to align project goals with overall product strategy.
  • Support silicon bring-up, characterisation, debugging, and optimisation efforts post-fabrication to guarantee successful deployment of new designs.
  • Document all aspects of the design process thoroughly, maintaining clear records for future reference and knowledge transfer within the team.
  • Share your insights and mentor junior engineers by providing guidance on best practices in analogue design methodologies.
  • Stay up-to-date with emerging trends in high-speed interconnects and participate in internal training sessions to further enhance your skill set.

What you bring:

To excel as an Analogue Design Engineer for Data Centre and SerDes Applications, you will bring a solid educational foundation paired with practical experience designing high-speed mixed-mode circuits. Your background should include direct exposure to key technologies such as UCIe interfaces or similar chip-to-chip connectivity standards. Beyond technical skills, your approachability and willingness to collaborate will enable you to thrive within a team-oriented environment that values open communication. Your attention to detail when documenting processes ensures that collective knowledge is preserved for future projects. A passion for continuous learning—whether through formal training or self-directed study—will help you stay ahead of evolving industry trends. If you have previously supported or mentored others within engineering teams, your nurturing attitude will be especially appreciated here.

  • A postgraduate degree (MS or above) in Electrical Engineering or a closely related field is required for this position.
  • Demonstrated familiarity with UCIe, C2C (Chip-to-Chip), D2D (Die-to-Die), HBM (High Bandwidth Memory), DDR (Double Data Rate), LPDDR (Low Power Double Data Rate), or SerDes (Serializer/Deserializer) analogue PHY circuit design is essential.
  • At least two years of hands-on experience working on mixed-mode or high-speed circuit design projects within a relevant industry setting is expected.
  • A proven track record of excellent working attitude combined with strong interpersonal skills is highly valued by the team.
  • Outstanding communication abilities are necessary to facilitate effective collaboration across multidisciplinary groups.
  • Experience with schematic capture tools, simulation environments, layout review processes, and verification methodologies is highly desirable.
  • A keen interest in staying current with technological advancements in high-speed interconnects will be beneficial for ongoing success in this role.
  • The ability to document complex technical processes clearly and concisely is important for supporting team knowledge sharing initiatives.
  • Previous involvement in mentoring or supporting less experienced engineers would be considered an asset.
