Division Head / Sales Director - Chemicals

Our client is a globally recognized market leader in chemicals and we are currently seeking a highly experienced leader to oversee the sales operations of several key business divisions. The ideal candidate will drive revenue growth, lead transformative change and manage the integration of acquisitions. This individual will play a key role in shaping the sales strategy, optimizing client relationships, and driving business development while ensuring operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Sales Leadership: Develop and implement the sales strategy to achieve revenue growth, customer acquisition, and market expansion across the division. Lead a sales team to maximize business opportunities and foster a customer-first approach.

  • Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A): Oversee M&A-related sales integration, ensuring smooth transitions for both customers and the sales team. Lead the development and execution of sales-focused integration strategies for newly acquired businesses.

  • Change Management: Drive change initiatives within the sales organization, focusing on improving processes, technology adoption, and sales culture. Lead the transition during restructuring efforts to ensure minimal disruption and maintain sales performance.

  • Customer Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients and stakeholders, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction and loyalty. Drive long-term growth by identifying new business opportunities and expanding existing client accounts.

  • Sales Operations Optimization: Streamline sales processes, improve operational efficiency, and implement best practices to enhance sales performance. Leverage data and analytics to monitor KPIs, track performance, and adjust strategies accordingly.

  • Team Development & Leadership: Lead and inspire the sales team, providing coaching, mentoring, and development opportunities to drive individual and team success. Foster a culture of high performance, collaboration, and accountability within the sales organization.

  • Market Expansion: Identify and capitalize on new market opportunities, especially within emerging regions or segments. Work closely with senior leadership to develop strategies for expanding the company's footprint in key global markets.

  • Financial & P&L Management: Oversee the sales division’s financial performance, ensuring alignment with revenue targets and profitability. Manage budget, sales forecasting, and resource allocation.

  • Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement: Partner with internal departments (e.g., marketing, product development) and external stakeholders (e.g., clients, distributors) to ensure alignment in sales objectives and execution.

Qualifications:

  • Experience: At least 10 years of senior sales leadership experience, preferably in the chemicals or B2B industry. Proven track record in driving sales performance, leading teams, and developing sales strategies.

  • M&A Expertise: Experience in managing the sales integration process during mergers and acquisitions, including aligning sales strategies, teams, and client management practices post-acquisition.

  • Change Management: Demonstrated ability to lead sales teams through organizational change, including adapting to new systems, processes, and structures in a fast-paced environment.

  • Learning Agility: Strong learning agility with the ability to quickly adapt to new challenges, emerging market trends, and evolving sales strategies.

  • Leadership Skills: Exceptional leadership qualities, with the ability to inspire and lead a diverse, global sales team while ensuring alignment with overall business goals.

  • Customer-Centric: Strong understanding of customer needs and market dynamics, with a history of building and nurturing long-term, mutually beneficial customer relationships.

  • Education: A Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or related field is required; an MBA or advanced degree is a plus.

  • Languages: Proficiency in English required; additional language skills are an advantage.
