What you'll do:

As Sales Director – Asia Region, your day-to-day responsibilities will centre around shaping the future of sustainable technology adoption in microelectronics. You will be entrusted with developing strategic business plans that unlock new growth opportunities while nurturing vital client relationships. Your expertise will drive sales initiatives that expand market presence across Taiwan, Korea, Japan, Vietnam, Malaysia, Thailand, Singapore, and beyond. By collaborating closely with cross-functional teams—including marketing, operations, legal, and finance—you will ensure seamless execution of commercial strategies. Success in this role means fostering an inclusive team culture that motivates colleagues from diverse backgrounds to achieve shared goals. You will also act as a senior point of contact for stakeholders at industry events while maintaining rigorous standards for governance and compliance.

  • Define and execute the commercial strategy for the Asia region in alignment with global objectives focused on enhancing customer outcomes through advanced reclamation solutions.
  • Develop strategic business plans that establish critical relationships and accounts to support growth opportunities throughout Taiwan, Korea, Japan, and Southeast Asia.
  • Contribute to financial models, forecasts, and budgets to ensure robust planning and resource allocation for regional operations.
  • Lead sales and marketing activities aimed at achieving revenue targets, margin improvement, and increased market share within the microelectronics segment.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients and distributors by understanding their unique needs and delivering tailored solutions.
  • Drive upselling and cross-selling initiatives while managing technology adoption processes for both existing and new accounts.
  • Recruit, build, and develop a technical sales team across the Asian (ESEA) region to support business expansion.
  • Oversee regional commercial operations including sales and operations planning (S&OP), ensuring efficient execution of business processes.
  • Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure commercial success and optimise operational effectiveness.
  • Represent the organisation at industry events across multiple countries while ensuring governance, risk management, and compliance frameworks are maintained.

What you bring:

Your proven experience as a Sales Director or similar senior commercial leader will be instrumental in driving success within this role. You bring a wealth of market knowledge from working across diverse Asian regions—understanding not only local regulations but also cultural sensitivities that influence business outcomes. Your collaborative approach enables you to motivate teams from different backgrounds while fostering an environment where everyone feels valued. With your technical background in engineering or science (ideally within microelectronics or water treatment), you are well-equipped to communicate complex solutions clearly to clients. Your fluency in Mandarin and English ensures seamless interactions with stakeholders; additional language skills such as Korean or Japanese further enhance your ability to connect across borders. Your commitment to data-driven decision-making supports robust forecasting and performance tracking using modern CRM platforms.

  • Demonstrated leadership experience managing diverse teams across multiple cultures within the Asian market.
  • Proven ability to drive revenue growth through effective sales strategies and relationship management.
  • Deep understanding of local business practices, regulatory environments, and cultural nuances throughout Asia-Pacific.
  • Exceptional communication skills in both Mandarin and English; proficiency in Korean or Japanese is advantageous.
  • Strong analytical abilities with a data-driven approach to decision-making using CRM software and digital tools.
  • Degree in engineering or science preferred for technical credibility within the microelectronics sector.
  • Willingness to travel up to 35% across the region to engage clients and attend industry events.
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills for building trust-based relationships with customers and partners.
  • Experience scaling businesses in semiconductor or water treatment industries is highly desirable.
