Media Director, Entertainment

What you'll do:
- Design and implement comprehensive workflows, standard operating procedures, and scalable processes for an in-house paid media team that supports long-term organisational objectives.
- Establish seamless cross-functional collaboration with marketing, business intelligence, creative, e-commerce, and product teams to ensure alignment on campaign goals and execution.
- Develop robust structures for campaign planning, testing methodologies, reporting mechanisms, and rapid creative iteration cycles that drive performance.
- Integrate advanced AI tools and innovative strategies into the paid media operating model to enhance efficiency and effectiveness across channels.
- Define the unique role of each advertising channel within the customer journey funnel—including Meta, Google, TikTok, YouTube, Amazon Ads—and create tailored strategies for acquisition through to retention.
- Own budget allocation methodology by leveraging metrics such as MER (Marketing Efficiency Ratio), marginal return analysis, and incrementality studies to maximise ROI.
- Continuously evaluate new platforms to extend reach and diversify growth opportunities beyond established channels.
- Design a creative testing framework in partnership with internal marketing and creative teams to produce high-performing content based on audience insights.
- Build a comprehensive data measurement system with BI partners that includes cross-platform reporting, attribution modelling, dealer sell-through tracking (e.g., Sweetwater or Guitar Center), off-site data tracking tools (such as Exponea or TripleWhale), and identity resolution solutions.
- Mentor and nurture the paid media team while acting as the strategic owner of paid media ROI; collaborate with e-commerce, CRM, finance and other stakeholders on growth initiatives.
What you bring:
- Extensive experience (10+ years) managing large-scale paid media operations across multiple digital channels including Meta (Facebook/Instagram), Google Ads/Search/Display/YouTube, TikTok Ads, Amazon Ads, Reddit Ads or similar platforms.
- Proven expertise in building in-house paid media teams from inception—designing workflows, SOPs (standard operating procedures), campaign planning structures and reporting systems that scale globally.
- Deep understanding of omni-channel strategy development encompassing acquisition funnels (prospecting), remarketing tactics (retargeting), retention programmes (loyalty/CRM), expansion efforts (new markets/products) and platform-specific nuances.
- Advanced knowledge of AI-driven tools for campaign optimisation as well as integrated strategies that leverage automation for improved outcomes.
- Demonstrated ability to design creative testing frameworks—partnering with internal teams to brief concepts based on audience insights then iterating rapidly based on performance data.
- Strong analytical skills with hands-on experience building cross-platform reporting dashboards; familiarity with attribution modelling techniques; comfort working alongside BI/data science teams; experience using off-site tracking tools like Exponea or TripleWhale is highly desirable.
- Track record of owning budget allocation methodologies using metrics such as MER (Marketing Efficiency Ratio), marginal return analysis or incrementality testing (geo tests/lift studies).
- Exceptional interpersonal skills enabling effective collaboration with diverse stakeholders including marketing leaders, creatives/designers/content producers/e-commerce managers/product owners/finance partners.
- Experience mentoring high-performing teams—providing guidance/support while nurturing talent development within a collaborative environment.
- Ability to thrive in a strategic leadership capacity where you are accountable for delivering measurable ROI on paid media investments.
