What you'll do:
As Merchandising Manager based in Taipei, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the merchandising strategy for one of the world’s most respected sports brands.
- Lead the seasonal planning process in alignment with local brand strategies and headquarters ambitions for all business units across Taiwan and export markets.
- Drive the business sign-off process for each season and develop comprehensive go-to-market plans that ensure successful product launches.
- Contribute valuable insights into annual budgeting and forecasting processes by collaborating closely with cross-functional teams.
- Plan and execute end-to-end local go-to-market activities including range introductions, pre-line handovers, business reviews, and sales launches.
- Manage omnichannel master range planning responsibilities such as range architecture, merchandising strategies, channel distribution, pricing, and maintaining the local master line list.
- Support direct-to-consumer channels by overseeing assortment planning, new store openings, product launches, promotions, and other retail initiatives.
- Assist B2B teams during strategic meetings with priority accounts and provide guidance for sell-in activities to maximise commercial outcomes.
- Take ownership of consumer and competitor analysis within Taiwan and Southeast Asia markets to identify growth opportunities through data-driven decision making.
- Monitor inventory levels monthly and collaborate with supply planning functions to deliver accurate seasonal demand forecasts.
- Prepare detailed sell-in and sell-through reports at channel, market, business unit, category, and product levels for regional and global quarterly business reviews.
What you bring:
Your background as a Merchandising Manager will showcase extensive experience gained within the sports equipment or apparel industry where your understanding of market trends has helped drive commercial success.
- 5-8 years of proven experience in merchandising within the sports equipment, apparel or footwear industry where you have demonstrated your ability to manage complex product portfolios.
- Bachelor’s degree or above which has equipped you with foundational knowledge relevant to this sector.
- Exceptional communication skills enabling you to build positive relationships across teams while presenting clear reports and insightful analyses.
- A keen sense of responsibility combined with a results-oriented approach that ensures projects are delivered efficiently and effectively.
- Fluency in English allowing you to collaborate seamlessly with international colleagues as well as local partners.
- Passion for tennis or sports which drives your enthusiasm for delivering outstanding merchandising solutions tailored to customer needs.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office software including PowerPoint, Word, Excel so you can create compelling presentations and manage data accurately.
- Retail experience encompassing product merchandising, sales analysis, stock control, product development or similar areas where your attention to detail has made a difference.
- Friendly demeanour paired with high interpersonal skills making you approachable for colleagues at all levels within the organisation.
- Initiative-taking attitude that enables you to proactively address challenges while contributing positively to team goals.
- Good sense of visual merchandising considered an advantage if you have experience designing engaging displays or layouts.
