Regional ESG Senior Manager / Director (relocation to Vietnam)

Partnering with a globally recognized company specializing in the development, production, and distribution of high-quality materials, and we are currently looking a Regional ESG Head to drive the development and execution of sustainability strategies across Southeast Asia. The position requires a dynamic leader to integrate sustainability into operations, engage with diverse stakeholders, and lead the company’s regional ESG initiatives.es.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Develop and Implement Governance and Compliance Strategies:

    • Design and implement governance frameworks aligned with global ESG standards and SEA-specific regulatory requirements.
    • Formulate policies and procedures to promote ethical practices, environmental stewardship, and social responsibility across operations in Southeast Asia.
  2. Risk Assessment and Mitigation:

    • Conduct comprehensive risk assessments to identify and address sustainability risks and compliance gaps specific to SEA operations.
    • Implement proactive risk mitigation strategies, including regional monitoring systems, reporting tools, and corrective action plans.
  3. Stakeholder Engagement:

    • Collaborate with regional internal teams and external stakeholders, including regulators, industry associations, and NGOs, to ensure alignment with the organization’s sustainability goals.
    • Represent the organization in regional forums and partnerships to drive ESG leadership and adoption of best practices.
  4. Reporting and Transparency:

    • Lead the development of sustainability reports and disclosures in accordance with frameworks such as GRI, SASB, or TCFD, ensuring they reflect SEA operational realities.
    • Provide clear, accurate, and timely sustainability communications to regional and global stakeholders.

Qualifications

  1. Educational Background:

    • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Environmental Science, Sustainability, Corporate Governance, or related fields.
    • Professional certifications in ESG or compliance (e.g., GRI, SASB, ISO 14001) are an advantage.
  2. Professional Experience:

    • Minimum of 8–12 years of experience in ESG, sustainability, or corporate compliance roles, with at least 3–5 years managing SEA-focused operations.
    • Proven ability to design and implement ESG strategies within multinational or regional organizations.
  3. Technical Skills:

    • Expertise in global ESG frameworks and SEA-specific regulatory requirements.
    • Experience in risk management and sustainability data analysis for operational sites in SEA.
  4. Stakeholder Management:

    • Strong ability to engage with diverse internal teams and external partners in SEA.
    • Demonstrated experience representing organizations in sustainability discussions or negotiations in the region.
  5. Leadership and Regional Knowledge:

    • Strategic leadership skills to influence regional teams and drive ESG compliance across multiple SEA countries.
    • In-depth understanding of ESG trends and challenges specific to the Southeast Asia region.
  6. Communication and Reporting:

    • Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to translate regional ESG data into actionable insights for global stakeholders.
    • Experience preparing impactful sustainability disclosures for both local and international audiences.
  7. Cultural and Language Skills:

    • Familiarity with Southeast Asian cultural dynamics and business practices.
    • Proficiency in English and Mandarin; additional SEA languages are a plus.
