Serdes System Design Engineer

About the Role A technology-focused organization is seeking a System Design Engineer to support high-speed interface systems in performance-critical platforms. The role focuses on system bring-up validation and integration while working closely with cross-functional teams across development and production.

What you’ll do

In this role, you will work on system-level development and validation for high-performance data communication platforms, supporting products from early development through integration and production. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to build and evaluate system prototypes, focusing on overall performance, stability, and reliability in demanding operating conditions.

Your responsibilities will include participating in system bring-up and verification activities, where you will analyse system behaviour, identify performance bottlenecks, and support issue resolution across hardware and software boundaries. You will contribute to improving validation and test flows, including basic automation, to enhance efficiency and consistency throughout development cycles.

You will also support integration and production-related activities by working with downstream teams and external partners, providing technical assistance during ramp-up and addressing issues encountered in later stages. Clear documentation and effective communication will be essential, ensuring alignment across teams and smooth knowledge transfer as projects progress.

Key Responsibilities

• Support system-level development and validation for high-performance interfaces and data paths

• Participate in prototype bring-up, verification, and performance evaluation

• Develop and maintain validation or test workflows to improve development efficiency

• Debug and resolve system-level issues in collaboration with cross-functional teams

• Provide technical support during integration and production phases

• Document system behaviour, findings, and best practices for internal use

Qualifications

• Degree in electrical, electronic, communication, computer engineering, or related fields

• Experience with system-level development, validation, or testing in performance-sensitive environments

• Familiarity with embedded or low-level systems and basic scripting or programming

• Exposure to system integration and production support is a plus

• Ability to analyse and troubleshoot system-level issues

• Comfortable working with cross-functional teams and sharing technical findings

• Good communication skills in English

• Self-motivated, willing to learn, and adaptable to changing priorities
