What you'll do:

  • Oversee the development, implementation, and maintenance of comprehensive information security policies that align with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Monitor compliance with internal security policies as well as external legal and regulatory obligations, conducting regular reviews to identify areas for improvement.
  • Design, coordinate, and deliver engaging security awareness training programmes to ensure all staff understand their responsibilities in maintaining a secure environment.
  • Lead internal audits of information security controls, preparing detailed reports on findings and recommending practical solutions for any identified risks or vulnerabilities.
  • Collaborate closely with other departments to integrate security considerations into business processes and technology initiatives.
  • Respond promptly to potential security incidents by investigating issues thoroughly, coordinating responses, and implementing corrective actions as needed.
  • Manage risk assessments across the organisation’s digital infrastructure, identifying threats and proposing mitigation strategies to protect sensitive data.
  • Support the professional development of an information security specialist by providing guidance, feedback, and opportunities for learning within the team.
  • Stay up-to-date with emerging trends in cybersecurity, adapting policies and procedures proactively to address new challenges.
  • Foster a culture of shared responsibility for information security throughout the organisation by promoting open communication and teamwork.

What you bring:

  • Demonstrated experience in managing information security compliance programmes within medium or large organisations, ideally with exposure to international standards such as ISO 27001 or NIST.
  • Proven ability to develop clear, effective governance frameworks that support organisational objectives while meeting regulatory requirements.
  • Strong background in designing and implementing comprehensive information security policies tailored to diverse business needs.
  • Experience conducting internal audits of IT systems or processes, including reporting on findings and recommending actionable improvements.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to deliver engaging training sessions on complex technical topics for non-technical audiences.
  • A collaborative mindset with experience working cross-functionally to integrate security into broader business initiatives.
  • Solid understanding of risk assessment methodologies relevant to digital infrastructure protection.
  • Previous experience mentoring or supporting junior team members within an IT or cybersecurity context is highly desirable.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of current cybersecurity threats, trends, technologies, and best practices relevant to enterprise environments.
  • A commitment to ongoing professional development through participation in training opportunities or industry events.
