Head of Technology (台中)
A leading Taiwan-based organisation is embarking on a transformative journey to redefine its enterprise systems and operational landscape, seeking an accomplished Head of Technology and Operations Transformation. This pivotal role is designed for a visionary who thrives on orchestrating large-scale business change, not just managing IT infrastructure.
As Head of Technology and Operations Transformation you will be at the forefront of an ambitious programme to overhaul enterprise systems and operational processes. Your day-to-day responsibilities will involve shaping the overall architecture strategy—deciding whether an integrated ERP or distributed best-of-breed approach best serves the business—and then executing that vision from end-to-end. You will lead efforts to integrate disparate platforms into a cohesive ecosystem that supports real-time decision-making while eliminating inefficiencies caused by manual workarounds or conflicting data sources. By championing process standardisation before systemisation you will ensure that every workflow—from sales through finance—is optimised for traceability and auditability. Your ability to communicate complex technical concepts in accessible terms will be crucial as you align stakeholders at every level of the organisation. Success in this role means embedding sustainable change: creating disciplined operations governed by transparent processes that comply fully with local regulations. Ultimately your work will empower management with reliable insights while freeing teams from legacy constraints.
- Define and implement a target enterprise architecture that aligns with strategic business goals rather than simply upgrading existing systems.
- Rationally evaluate and select between single ERP solutions or distributed system architectures based on organisational needs, balancing customisation against configuration options.
- Take full ownership of ERP replacement projects if selected, including business process redesign, system selection, vendor management, data migration, and ensuring successful go-live outcomes.
- Design and execute seamless integration strategies across critical platforms such as ERP (if applicable), POS, CRM, e-commerce platforms, finance and accounting systems, HR/payroll/attendance modules, as well as product inventory and supply chain systems.
- Establish clear system-of-record ownership structures alongside robust master data governance protocols to ensure reliable data synchronisation via API or batch methods.
- Lead comprehensive cross-functional process redesign initiatives prior to system implementation to standardise workflows across sales, procurement, inventory management, logistics, finance closing cycles, and HR operations.
- Digitise approvals, controls, audit trails and remove dependencies on informal processes or personal knowledge silos to enhance traceability and accountability.
- Work collaboratively with business leaders and frontline teams to drive understanding and adoption of new systems while bridging communication gaps between technical experts and non-technical stakeholders.
- Navigate Taiwan’s consensus-oriented working culture by building trust through practical process design and clear role definition rather than relying solely on top-down mandates.
- Ensure ongoing compliance with Taiwan’s tax laws, invoice requirements, labour regulations while establishing enduring IT governance practices including change management discipline and thorough documentation.
What you bring:
The ideal Head of Technology and Operations Transformation brings extensive experience leading enterprise-wide transformation initiatives within mid-sized organisations. Your background includes direct responsibility for complex ERP replacements or multi-system integrations where you have delivered tangible improvements in efficiency and scalability. You possess deep knowledge of Taiwan’s regulatory environment as well as strong connections within its vendor ecosystem—enabling you to navigate compliance challenges seamlessly. Your approach is grounded in business process optimisation; you understand that technology should serve operational goals rather than dictate them. Communication is one of your greatest strengths: you excel at translating technical requirements into actionable plans for non-technical audiences while fostering buy-in across all levels of the organisation. Your leadership style emphasises collaboration over command-and-control; you build trust by involving stakeholders early in the process design phase so that new systems become integral parts of daily operations rather than parallel workarounds. Above all else you are committed to embedding sustainable change—ensuring that disciplined operations supported by transparent processes endure long after project completion.
- A minimum of 12 years’ experience in enterprise systems leadership roles focused on transformation within organisations ranging from 200–500 employees.
- Proven track record of direct ownership over ERP replacement projects or large-scale multi-system integration programmes where you have driven outcomes from conception through execution.
- Deep familiarity with Taiwan’s vendor landscape—including system integrators—and hands-on experience navigating local compliance realities such as tax law adherence and payroll regulation.
- Exceptional business process orientation demonstrated by your ability to redesign workflows for efficiency before implementing technological solutions.
- Fluency in Mandarin Chinese coupled with an intrinsic understanding of Taiwan’s working culture; you must be based locally with established relationships in the market.
- Demonstrated success in building consensus among diverse stakeholder groups by communicating clearly with both technical specialists and non-technical users alike.
- Experience leading cross-functional teams through significant change management initiatives while maintaining momentum in consensus-driven environments.
- Expertise in establishing robust governance frameworks covering IT policy development, master data management protocols, documentation standards, SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures), and sustainable change management disciplines.
- Ability to digitise approvals, controls, audit trails while removing reliance on informal processes or undocumented knowledge transfer mechanisms.
