Network Engineer (Operation)

What you'll do:
- Plan, design, and implement comprehensive network infrastructure for global data centres, including WANs, core networks, firewalls, load balancers, DNS, VPNs, and more.
- Build high-performance network solutions tailored to support demanding AI/ML workloads by integrating compute, storage, management, and out-of-band fabrics using advanced technologies like Infiniband and Ethernet RDMA RoCEv2.
- Monitor GPU-based network systems proactively to ensure optimal performance levels are maintained at all times across multiple sites.
- Manage and configure optical transceivers along with related components to guarantee seamless connectivity within the data centre environment.
- Collaborate with various internal teams and stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into effective networking solutions.
- Identify suitable network providers, vendors, and technology partners that align with organisational needs for scalability and reliability.
- Ensure consistent delivery of high availability (99.9%+) network services through diligent monitoring and rapid response to incidents.
- Implement robust network security measures while performing regular system upgrades to maintain compliance with industry standards.
- Document all network configurations thoroughly alongside issues encountered and resolution procedures for future reference.
- Conduct detailed root cause analysis following any outages or disruptions to restore service efficiently while minimising downtime.
- Stay up-to-date with advancements in optical communications, GPU networking trends, and emerging data centre technologies through continuous learning.
- Travel regionally or internationally as required to support deployment or maintenance activities at various data centre locations.
What you bring:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field is required for foundational technical understanding.
- Over five years of experience in senior-level network engineering roles or similar positions demonstrates your depth of expertise.
- Extensive background in deploying networks at scale combined with operational support experience ensures readiness for complex environments.
- Comprehensive knowledge of network administration principles as well as architecture best practices is essential for success in this role.
- Proven ability to implement robust security measures including DDOS mitigation strategies and intrusion detection systems (IDS).
- Hands-on familiarity with configuring routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, DNS servers, VPNs reflects practical skillset needed daily.
- Experience utilising network monitoring tools alongside deep understanding of relevant protocols supports proactive issue identification.
- Expertise in optical networking—including fibre optics, transceivers—enables you to manage high-speed connections effectively.
- Direct involvement with high-performance data centre networks or HPC/AI environments is highly valued given the nature of workloads supported.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities paired with strong troubleshooting skills allow you to resolve issues efficiently under pressure.
