What you'll do:

• Administer Linux systems (RHEL or CentOS), including performing system commands, managing package installations, and maintaining security protocols to ensure robust operations.
• Monitor and maintain network environments by applying your understanding of TCP/IP, ICMP, UDP, and DNS fundamentals to support seamless connectivity.
• Troubleshoot complex issues across both system and network layers, using analytical thinking to resolve incidents efficiently and minimise downtime.
• Develop automation scripts using Shell or Python to streamline routine administrative tasks and improve operational efficiency.
• Support deployment processes by writing Ansible scripts for configuration management when required, contributing to consistent infrastructure setups.
• Manage virtual machine environments such as AWS EC2 or Linode, as well as other public cloud platforms like GCP or Tencent Cloud, ensuring optimal resource utilisation.
• Assist with the integration and operation of streaming CDNs (e.g., Aliyun, Tencent Cloud, Wangsu) for live streaming services to deliver high-quality content distribution.
• Apply your understanding of HTTP applications in video/audio streaming to optimise delivery pipelines for end users.
• Utilise RTMP or RTSP protocols for streaming transmission tasks as needed within the service architecture.
• Contribute to service monitoring by leveraging tools such as Prometheus and Grafana to track system health and performance metrics.

What you bring:

• Demonstrated proficiency in operating and administering Linux systems (RHEL or CentOS), including command-line usage, package management, and security best practices.
• Solid foundational knowledge of networking concepts such as TCP/IP, ICMP, UDP, and DNS that enables effective troubleshooting of connectivity issues.
• Proven troubleshooting skills across both system-level and network-level challenges that require careful analysis and problem-solving abilities.
• Experience developing automation scripts using Shell or Python to enhance operational workflows within IT environments.
• Familiarity with writing Ansible scripts for deployment purposes is highly desirable for streamlining configuration management tasks.
• Hands-on experience managing virtual machines on platforms like AWS EC2 or Linode; exposure to other cloud providers such as GCP or Tencent Cloud is advantageous.
