- Guide your team through root cause analysis and system optimisation processes to resolve complex infrastructure bottlenecks and enhance overall stability.
- Utilise your deep understanding of networking fundamentals such as TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP/HTTPS to maintain secure and efficient connectivity across platforms.
- Leverage virtualisation technologies including VMware and PVE to streamline resource allocation and improve operational flexibility.
- Implement monitoring solutions using tools like Prometheus, Grafana, or Datadog to proactively identify issues and maintain high system availability.
- Manage a team of three or more engineers by providing performance management, talent development, technical mentorship, and fostering a collaborative culture.
- Establish a strong technical culture that promotes knowledge sharing, teamwork, and collective problem-solving within the group.
- Develop strategic technical roadmaps and architecture directions that align with organisational goals while ensuring successful execution of initiatives.
- Facilitate cross-departmental communication by translating technical topics into business language for stakeholders at all levels.
- Lead incident response efforts with calm decision-making under pressure, ensuring swift resolution of unexpected events while maintaining system integrity.
What you bring:

Your background includes hands-on troubleshooting using root cause analysis techniques that consistently yield improved performance outcomes. You are well-versed in networking fundamentals—ensuring secure data flow—and have implemented virtualisation strategies for enhanced operational agility. Your track record managing engineering teams highlights your commitment to nurturing talent through mentorship and fostering an inclusive environment where everyone feels supported. You thrive when developing long-term technology strategies that drive organisational success while maintaining open lines of communication with stakeholders from various departments. Your calm approach during incidents reflects your dedication to maintaining stability even under challenging circumstances. Additional strengths such as automation mindset (IaC tools like Terraform/Ansible), responsibility for high availability systems, proactive risk identification (single points of failure), and containerisation experience (Kubernetes) further distinguish you as an exceptional candidate.
- You possess extensive experience with systems architecture design encompassing network infrastructure, cloud platforms (AWS/GCP), IDC environments, and CDN frameworks.
- Your proficiency in troubleshooting complex infrastructure issues through root cause analysis enables you to deliver optimised solutions that enhance system performance.
- You are highly knowledgeable in networking protocols such as TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP/HTTPS which allows you to maintain secure connections across multiple services.
- You have practical expertise in virtualisation technologies including VMware or PVE that supports scalable resource management.
- Your familiarity with monitoring tools like Prometheus, Grafana or Datadog ensures proactive maintenance of high-availability systems.
- You bring proven experience managing teams of three or more engineers by providing guidance on performance evaluation, talent development, and technical coaching.
- You excel at building cohesive technical cultures that encourage knowledge sharing and communal growth among colleagues.
- You are adept at developing strategic technology plans that align with organisational objectives while driving successful project execution.
