Senior DevOps
A leading technology organisation in Taiwan is seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer to join their talented team. This role offers you the opportunity to shape the reliability, scalability, and security of cloud infrastructure that supports multiple environments and business-critical services.
What you'll do:
As a Senior DevOps Engineer based in Taiwan, you will play an integral role in shaping the future of cloud infrastructure for this forward-thinking organisation. Your day-to-day responsibilities will involve designing scalable systems that support multiple environments while ensuring high levels of reliability and security. You will be hands-on in building advanced CI/CD pipelines that automate testing and deployment processes using modern strategies like blue-green releases. Leveraging your expertise in Infrastructure as Code (IaC), you will standardise provisioning workflows with Terraform to promote modularity and safe state management. Container orchestration will be central to your work as you optimise workloads using ECS or Kubernetes platforms. Observability is key; you will implement monitoring solutions that provide deep insights into system performance and enable rapid recovery from incidents. Security is embedded throughout your workflow—from managing IAM roles to automating vulnerability detection—ensuring compliance with industry standards. You will participate actively in incident response efforts to drive operational excellence while mentoring other engineers through code reviews and best practice sharing. Collaboration with engineering leadership will allow you to influence long-term strategy while nurturing a culture of continuous improvement within the team.
- Design, build, and operate scalable, secure, and highly available cloud infrastructure on AWS that supports multiple environments including development, staging, and production.
- Develop robust CI/CD pipelines with automated testing, security scanning, and deployment strategies such as blue-green and canary releases to ensure seamless software delivery.
- Standardise infrastructure provisioning using Terraform with a focus on modular design, reusability, and safe state management across various environments.
- Operate and improve containerised workloads at scale using ECS as the primary orchestration platform while also leveraging Kubernetes (EKS) where appropriate.
- Implement observability solutions such as Prometheus, Grafana, or Datadog to enhance system transparency and support data-driven operational decisions.
- Embed security into the delivery lifecycle by managing IAM roles, VPC networking configurations, encryption protocols for data at rest and in transit, as well as automated vulnerability detection.
- Participate in incident response activities including post-mortems and root-cause analysis to help define pragmatic reliability practices without unnecessary process overhead.
- Act as a technical leader within the team by reviewing infrastructure code, sharing best practices with colleagues, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
- Collaborate closely with engineering leadership on longer-term infrastructure strategy to align technical initiatives with business goals.
- Mentor junior engineers by providing guidance on DevOps principles and supporting their professional development through knowledge sharing.
What you bring:
To excel as a Senior DevOps Engineer in this organisation you will bring extensive experience gained over six years working within DevOps or related fields where infrastructure was at the heart of your responsibilities. Your deep familiarity with AWS services enables you to architect solutions that are both scalable and cost-effective. Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code tools like Terraform ensures you can standardise provisioning workflows efficiently across multiple environments. Your scripting abilities in languages such as Python or Go empower you to automate operational tasks reducing manual effort for yourself and others. Experience managing container platforms like Docker combined with advanced orchestration using ECS or Kubernetes allows you to optimise workloads at scale. A solid grasp of networking concepts—including DNS setup and SSL/TLS encryption—enables you to maintain secure connections throughout the infrastructure. Setting up CI/CD pipelines from scratch is second nature thanks to your background with tools like GitHub Actions or Jenkins. Database operations are another area where your skills shine whether scaling relational systems or integrating NoSQL solutions. Communication is one of your strengths; you can explain intricate technical details clearly regardless of audience while collaborating effectively within cross-functional teams. Your commitment to continuous improvement means you actively share knowledge helping others grow alongside you.
- 6+ years of experience in DevOps, Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), or Software Engineering with a strong infrastructure focus demonstrating dependability in complex environments.
- Deep hands-on experience with AWS services such as EC2, RDS, S3, Lambda, VPC, IAM, Route53 along with practical cost-optimisation expertise.
- Expert-level proficiency with Terraform including module design, remote state management, multi-environment workflows; CloudFormation experience is also acceptable.
- Strong proficiency in Python, Go or Bash for automating operational workflows which reduces manual toil across teams.
- Solid knowledge of Docker or similar container technologies coupled with proven experience operating advanced ECS setups or running production workloads on Kubernetes.
- Comprehensive understanding of networking fundamentals including TCP/IP protocols, DNS configuration, SSL/TLS encryption methods as well as web application security measures like WAFs.
- Ability to set up CI/CD pipelines from scratch using GitHub Actions or comparable tools such as CircleCI or Jenkins ensuring reliable software delivery processes.
- Experience operating and scaling relational databases such as PostgreSQL or MySQL alongside familiarity with NoSQL systems for diverse data needs.
- Excellent communication skills enabling clear articulation of complex technical topics to both engineers and non-technical stakeholders during cross-functional initiatives.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively within teams fostering an inclusive environment that supports knowledge sharing.
