HR Assistant Manager
A fashion retail company seeks a HR Assistant Manager in Taipei to drive HR operations, talent development, and regional collaboration across Taiwan and Greater China.
Key responsibilities:
As HR Assistant Manager, you will oversee HR operations, drive recruitment, training, performance, and employee relations, while supporting regional collaboration and talent development.
Taiwan HR Operations
- Lead full-cycle HR operations in Taiwan, including recruitment, onboarding, compensation & benefits, employee relations, and performance management
- Design and execute strategic hiring plans for retail and head office roles, including high-volume and seasonal recruitment
- Oversee payroll, attendance, labour law compliance, insurance, and contract management
- Develop and manage training programs for new hires, store managers, and emerging leaders
- Facilitate performance reviews, KPI tracking, and enhance HR policies and employee engagement initiatives
Regional Collaboration
- Align Taiwan HR practices with group policies while ensuring compliance with China and Hong Kong labour laws
- Consolidate, analyse, and report regional HR data (headcount, attrition, compensation, org charts) for management decisions
- Coordinate cross-border HR projects, including HRIS implementation, engagement surveys, and organisational restructuring
- Support talent development and succession planning across Greater China
- Act as liaison between Taiwan HQ and regional HR teams to ensure consistent execution of initiatives
Candidate profile:
To excel in this role, you bring broad HR experience across recruitment, onboarding, compensation, and compliance, with HRIS proficiency, bilingual communication, and regional collaboration skills.
- Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business, Psychology, or related field with 5+ years of full-spectrum HR experience, ideally in retail, fashion, or multi-country organizations
- Strong knowledge of Taiwan labor regulations, HR best practices, and experience liaising with China/Hong Kong HR teams
- Proficient in HRIS platforms (e.g., Workday, SAP, Oracle HCM) and Excel, with strong data management, reporting, and analytical skills
- Fluent in Mandarin and English, with excellent communication, report-writing, and collaborative problem-solving abilities
- Familiarity with regional labor laws, HR audits, system rollouts, and retail-specific programs like incentive design and shift scheduling
