What you'll do:

  • Programme and troubleshoot PLC/HMI-based control systems to ensure seamless operation and optimal performance across various client sites.
  • Write structured, well-documented SCADA code using Ignition to support robust automation processes tailored to client requirements.
  • Interface directly with clients regarding technical issues and solutions, fostering strong relationships built on trust and clear communication.
  • Serve as a liaison between clients and project team members oversea, ensuring smooth project delivery across time zones.
  • Collaborate closely with internal teams to design, implement, and refine automation strategies that meet or exceed industry standards.
  • Participate in commissioning activities at client sites, providing hands-on support during installation and start-up phases.
  • Troubleshoot complex control system challenges efficiently while maintaining detailed documentation for future reference.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives by sharing insights gained from fieldwork with the broader engineering team.
  • Support training efforts for end-users or junior engineers as needed to promote knowledge sharing within the organisation.

What you bring:

  • A degree in electrical, mechanical, chemical engineering or a related discipline—or equivalent relevant experience—demonstrates your solid foundation in engineering principles.
  • Three to seven years (or more) of hands-on experience in controls engineering, including troubleshooting, programming, and commissioning complex systems.
  • Proven expertise in SCADA development and troubleshooting; experience with Ignition software is particularly desirable for this role.
  • Fluency or business proficiency in both English and Mandarin enables you to communicate effectively with international teams and local clients alike.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of PLCs and process automation ensures you can deliver reliable solutions tailored to client needs.
  • Willingness and ability to travel as required to client sites demonstrates your flexibility and commitment to project success.
  • Availability to work during non-traditional hours when necessary supports collaboration with oversea colleagues on cross-border projects.
  • Experience working within data centre environments is considered an asset that will help you excel in specialised projects.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities paired with the capacity to work independently allow you to address challenges proactively while supporting team objectives.
  • Familiarity with Allen Bradley PLCs is advantageous; willingness to travel internationally further enhances your suitability for this position.
