What you'll do:
- Guide a dedicated team in the design, development, and ongoing maintenance of robust industrial IoT communication products tailored for complex environments.
- Plan comprehensive project timelines and ensure all milestones are met efficiently while maintaining high standards of quality throughout each phase.
- Independently conceptualise, design, and refine software architectures that support scalable and reliable protocol gateway solutions.
- Develop, optimise, and maintain software modules focused on industrial communication protocols to ensure seamless data exchange between devices.
- Collaborate closely with colleagues from various departments to integrate new features into products and address evolving customer requirements.
- Travel domestically and internationally as needed to provide on-site technical assistance, ensuring prompt resolution of client issues in real-world settings.
- Analyse client application scenarios within industrial environments to identify needs, conduct technical research, and propose innovative product enhancements.
- Prepare detailed technical reports based on field research and usage analysis to inform future product development strategies.
- Foster a culture of open communication, teamwork, and mutual support within the engineering group to achieve shared goals effectively.
What you bring:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or related discipline; postgraduate qualifications are highly regarded for this position.
- At least five years’ experience in embedded system development coupled with over one year of hands-on project management responsibilities within technology-driven teams.
- Proficiency in C programming language along with deep understanding of data structures, algorithms, and operating system fundamentals relevant to embedded platforms.
- Comprehensive knowledge of TCP/IP networking protocols as well as practical experience with socket programming for real-time communications.
- Demonstrated expertise in developing software for RTOS (Real-Time Operating Systems) and Linux-based embedded systems environments.
- Solid background in designing modular software architectures that facilitate scalability and maintainability across multiple product lines.
- Proven ability to manage projects effectively while nurturing collaboration among team members through clear communication and knowledge sharing.
- Strong problem-solving skills combined with a willingness to assist others in overcoming technical challenges during product development cycles.
- Experience working collaboratively across departments to deliver integrated solutions aligned with business objectives.
