What you'll do:

  • Plan and lead the end-to-end development process for network switch Board Support Packages (BSP) as well as Linux Kernel and Driver components, ensuring all project milestones are met with high quality standards.
  • Guide the design, porting, and seamless integration of Switch Network Operating System Drivers and Application Abstraction Layers (AAL), including Realtek, Marvell, or Broadcom SDKs/AALs.
  • Oversee the implementation and stability improvement of I2C/SPI/UART interface drivers by supporting communication protocol testing and hardware interface validation.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional product and project teams to complete system software design tasks, optimise performance and reliability, and develop robust pre-production testing plans along with failure analysis mechanisms.
  • Establish best practices for version control and development processes using tools such as Git, JIRA, CI pipelines, Yocto, or Buildroot; promote adherence to technical documentation standards and design specifications across the team.
  • Provide empathetic team management by supporting individual growth, managing scheduling risks effectively, and ensuring timely delivery of all project deliverables.
  • Champion open communication channels between departments to facilitate smooth technical exchanges and foster an environment of mutual respect.
  • Encourage knowledge sharing within the team by organising regular training sessions or workshops focused on new technologies or process improvements.
  • Monitor industry trends in embedded networking to ensure that all solutions remain at the forefront of technological advancement while maintaining compatibility with existing systems.

What you bring:

  • At least eight years of proven experience in embedded networking software or firmware development with a strong track record of delivering high-quality solutions in collaborative environments.
  • A minimum of three years’ experience leading teams or serving as a technical lead on complex projects involving cross-departmental coordination.
  • Deep familiarity with C programming language as well as embedded system architecture including Linux Kernel/Driver development, Device Tree configuration, and U-Boot bootloader integration.
  • Hands-on experience implementing and debugging BSPs along with I2C/SPI/UART communication interface drivers; prior exposure to Realtek, Marvell or Broadcom switch SoC/SDK development is highly desirable.
  • Previous involvement in Capgemini or Altran ISS platform development would be considered an advantage but is not essential for success in this role.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills demonstrated through effective cross-departmental technical communication combined with strong problem analysis abilities.
  • Proven capability in risk management within software projects ensuring timely identification of potential issues followed by prompt resolution strategies.
  • A passion for nurturing talent within your team by providing guidance on both technical matters as well as personal development goals.
