What you'll do:
- Design, develop, and maintain robust embedded software solutions for devices utilising the NVIDIA Jetson platform, ensuring high reliability and scalability.
- Interface with camera software to enable real-time capture, processing, and analysis of video streams for advanced computer vision applications.
- Develop Python application code to support system functionalities such as data processing, device control, and seamless integration with other modules.
- Implement over-the-air (OTA) upgrade mechanisms for efficient management of deployed camera fleets across diverse environments.
- Identify performance bottlenecks throughout the software stack—from kernel-level operations to user-facing applications—and optimise system efficiency.
- Stay current with emerging technologies and best practices in embedded systems development, applying new insights to enhance project outcomes.
- Collaborate directly with hardware vendors to diagnose root cause issues and deliver effective resolutions for complex technical challenges.
- Contribute to cross-functional teams by sharing expertise in network protocols, device communication strategies, and IoT integration.
- Support hardware debugging activities and provide input on PLC usage and protocol implementation where required.
- Participate actively in team meetings, code reviews, and collaborative problem-solving sessions to ensure project goals are met.
What you bring:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline is essential for understanding complex embedded systems.
- At least five years of hands-on experience developing embedded solutions on Linux-based platforms demonstrates your depth of expertise.
- Proficiency in Python programming is required for building application code; familiarity with Docker, JavaScript, C/C++ enhances your versatility across projects.
- Demonstrated experience working with the NVIDIA Jetson platform or similar embedded computing modules ensures you can hit the ground running.
- Knowledge of software deployment strategies and tools tailored for embedded environments supports reliable fleet management.
- Deep understanding of network protocols, device communication methods, and IoT technologies enables seamless system integration.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities allow you to address technical challenges both independently and collaboratively within a team setting.
