Quality Engineer This role involves close collaboration with factories and suppliers to continuously improve manufacturing systems and quality assurance processes, ensuring products meet the highest standards. It focuses on resolving manufacturing and quality issues through collaborative problem-solving, including failure analysis and 8D reports, while conducting supplier audits and new supplier evaluations. The position also supports supplier development and NPI implementation, delivers technical training to customers and internal sales teams, facilitates cross-functional communication, and travels as needed to build strong relationships across the supply chain.

What you'll do:

  • Collaborate with factories and suppliers to continuously enhance their manufacturing systems and implement robust quality assurance processes.
  • Work closely with suppliers to resolve manufacturing process issues and quality problems, including managing failure analysis investigations and coordinating 8D reports.
  • Assist factories in audit activities by providing guidance and support throughout the review process.
  • Conduct regular supplier quality audits to ensure compliance with organisational standards and drive improvements where necessary.
  • Support supplier development teams in evaluating new potential suppliers through comprehensive assessments.
  • Deliver technical training sessions and seminars for customers as well as internal sales teams, sharing expertise to foster understanding of product requirements.
  • Implement new product introduction (NPI) processes for current suppliers, ensuring smooth integration of new products into existing workflows.
  • Facilitate communication between cross-functional teams to promote shared goals and mutual understanding throughout the supply chain.
  • Provide feedback on process improvements based on audit findings and data analysis, contributing to overall operational excellence.
  • Travel as needed to visit customers and suppliers, building strong relationships through face-to-face engagement.

What you bring:

The ideal candidate for the Quality Engineer position will bring proven experience from multinational OEM manufacturing settings or related industries such as EMS or PCBA. Your background should include a solid academic foundation in science or electronic engineering along with hands-on exposure to complex production environments. You will demonstrate exceptional interpersonal skills that enable you to communicate effectively across cultures in both English and Mandarin. Your analytical mindset will allow you to interpret data thoughtfully while your attention to detail ensures accuracy in every aspect of your work. A commitment to teamwork is crucial; you will thrive when collaborating with others towards common goals. Familiarity with MS Office tools within networked environments will support your daily responsibilities. Finally, your willingness to travel underscores your dedication to building strong connections with customers and suppliers alike.

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in science or electronic engineering is required for this position.
  • At least five years of experience within multinational OEM manufacturing environments or EMS/PCBA industries is essential for success.
  • Previous experience working with major US-based OEMs will be considered an advantage for this role.
  • Exceptional attention to detail is necessary when reviewing processes and documentation.
  • Strong statistical skills combined with analytical abilities are vital for interpreting data accurately.
  • Excellent communication skills in both English and Mandarin are required to facilitate effective collaboration across diverse teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to work dependably within networked environments using MS Office applications is important for daily tasks.
  • A collaborative approach is essential; you should be comfortable working as part of a supportive team focused on shared objectives.
  • Willingness to travel regularly for customer visits and supplier meetings is expected from candidates applying for this role.
