What you'll do:
As a Hardware Product Project Manager based in Taipei, you will be entrusted with guiding innovative consumer electronics from concept through launch and beyond. Your day-to-day activities will involve close coordination with both internal teams—spanning R&D, design, software engineering, QA, customer service—and external partners such as ODMs/OEMs across Asia. You will be responsible for translating user requirements into actionable plans while ensuring each stage of development aligns with strategic objectives. By maintaining open channels of communication among all stakeholders and meticulously tracking progress against key milestones, you will help deliver products that exceed expectations in terms of quality, functionality, and user satisfaction. Your ability to synthesise complex information into clear updates will keep everyone aligned towards common goals. In this role, your proactive approach to problem-solving will be essential as you navigate challenges inherent in fast-evolving markets. Ultimately, your efforts will drive successful launches that reinforce the company’s reputation for excellence in IoT hardware innovation.
- Drive the end-to-end development of hardware product lines by collaborating closely with senior management to define product positioning and strategy based on user needs and market trends.
- Draft comprehensive requirements documents (RFD) and coordinate with ODM partners to review costs, manage contracts, and oversee procurement processes related to new product introductions.
- Establish strong partnerships with external manufacturers by managing project timelines, controlling manufacturing costs, and upholding rigorous quality standards throughout the production cycle.
- Facilitate seamless integration between internal software, firmware, design, customer service, and quality assurance teams to ensure timely and high-quality delivery of integrated hardware-software solutions.
- Lead go-to-market preparations by orchestrating cross-departmental efforts in marketing, logistics, e-commerce distribution, and after-sales support mechanisms.
- Monitor post-launch performance by analysing user data and market feedback to identify areas for continuous improvement and optimisation of existing products.
- Champion transparent communication through meticulous documentation practices and regular progress reporting to all stakeholders involved in the project lifecycle.
- Proactively address project bottlenecks by identifying challenges early on and proposing practical solutions that maintain both quality standards and delivery schedules.
- Leverage insights from supply chain partners in Asia to streamline sourcing strategies and enhance operational efficiency across multiple regions.
- Support business growth initiatives by exploring untapped market opportunities and contributing actionable recommendations for future product enhancements.
What you bring:
To excel as a Hardware Product Project Manager in this organisation’s dynamic environment, you should bring proven experience navigating complex supply chains within Asia while managing relationships with ODMs or other manufacturing partners. Your background should include hands-on involvement in developing consumer electronic devices from initial concept through mass production—ideally encompassing all critical validation phases (EVT/DVT/PVT) along with compliance considerations for international markets. Success in this position requires not only technical acumen but also outstanding interpersonal skills: your ability to foster collaboration among diverse teams ensures smooth integration between hardware components and supporting software platforms. A detail-oriented mindset enables you to maintain impeccable records while communicating progress clearly across all levels of the organisation. If you have previously contributed to cost optimisation initiatives or managed inventory flows within a similar context, these experiences will further strengthen your candidacy. Above all else, your empathy for end users—combined with analytical thinking—will empower you to champion meaningful improvements that resonate in competitive global markets.
- Demonstrated experience working directly with ODM partners, freight forwarders, or suppliers within Asian supply chain ecosystems is essential for effective project execution.
- Comprehensive understanding of consumer electronics development processes—including EVT/DVT/PVT stages—as well as familiarity with international certification requirements and mass production milestones.
- Exceptional ability to coordinate among multiple collaborators across departments such as software engineering, firmware development, design teams, customer service representatives, and quality assurance specialists.
- Strong commitment to maintaining high standards for both quality control and project timelines; adept at identifying obstacles early on and presenting thoughtful solutions that keep projects on track.
- Meticulous organisational skills reflected in thorough documentation habits; capable of distilling complex information into concise summaries for transparent progress reporting.
- Practical experience in cost management, inventory control or supply chain operations is highly desirable for optimising resource allocation throughout the product lifecycle.
- A keen appreciation for user perspectives; able to integrate data-driven insights with market intelligence when recommending specific improvements or enhancements to existing products.
- Previous involvement in launching consumer electronics—especially cameras or smart devices—will be considered a significant advantage due to relevant industry context.
- Familiarity with integrating hardware products with software services (such as app interfaces or firmware update mechanisms) is beneficial for delivering seamless user experiences.
