What you'll do:
- Lead the development and planning of smartlock products by drafting comprehensive product requirement documents (PRDs) and integrating input from design, engineering, testing, and manufacturing teams.
- Oversee sample development progress to ensure timely delivery that meets customer requirements for mass production and shipment deadlines.
- Collaborate with suppliers across various technical domains to develop electronic components that align with product specifications and quality standards.
- Work closely with the supply chain team to balance product quality with cost-effectiveness throughout the development process.
- Coordinate project execution by travelling as needed to mainland China to ensure seamless implementation and alignment between all stakeholders.
- Drive projects from proof-of-concept (POC) through prototyping, pilot runs, and ultimately successful mass production and market launch.
- Facilitate effective cross-departmental collaboration internally and externally to guarantee that products meet evolving market needs.
- Continuously optimise product quality, features, and cost structure in order to enhance competitiveness within the marketplace.
- Prepare clear presentations for project updates and communicate effectively with sales teams regarding go-to-market strategies.
- Monitor industry trends and customer feedback to inform ongoing improvements in product offerings.
What you bring:
- Experience working within manufacturing industries is highly desirable as it provides valuable insight into production processes and operational challenges.
- A background or hands-on experience in electrical engineering (EE) or field application engineering (FAE) is considered a significant advantage for understanding technical requirements.
- Demonstrated ability in project management including drafting PRDs, coordinating cross-functional teams, and delivering projects on time.
- Proven skills in supplier management—especially collaborating with vendors on electronic component development—and balancing quality with cost efficiency.
- Willingness and flexibility to travel abroad (particularly mainland China) for project coordination purposes as required by business needs.
- Strong interpersonal skills enabling effective collaboration across departments such as R&D, design, testing, manufacturing, supply chain management, marketing, and sales.
- Excellent presentation abilities for communicating project status updates or pitching concepts internally or externally.
- Familiarity with go-to-market strategies including working alongside sales teams during product launches is beneficial.
- A track record of optimising products based on market feedback or competitive analysis is valued.
- Experience in marketing or business development roles is a plus as it supports holistic project execution.
