This opportunity offers you the chance to work on meaningful projects that address real-world challenges, using your technical skills in heat transfer, fluid dynamics, and thermodynamics. You will be part of a supportive environment that values knowledge sharing, teamwork, and continuous learning. The organisation is committed to providing flexible working opportunities and encourages professional growth through ongoing training and development. If you are passionate about developing reliable thermal systems and want to make a tangible impact in a forward-thinking company, this role is designed for you.

What you'll do:

As a Thermal Engineer based in Taoyuan, you will play a pivotal role in designing, validating, and optimising cutting-edge cooling solutions for battery systems. Your day-to-day activities will involve collaborating with talented colleagues across disciplines as you apply your deep knowledge of heat transfer principles and computational analysis tools. You will be responsible for developing comprehensive thermal architectures that integrate seamlessly with mechanical structures while meeting stringent performance targets. By conducting rigorous testing and maintaining detailed records, you will help establish best practices that drive continuous improvement. Success in this position requires not only technical proficiency but also excellent communication skills as you share insights with teammates and stakeholders alike. Your contributions will ensure that every product meets the highest standards of reliability and efficiency.

  • Apply your strong understanding of heat transfer, fluid dynamics, and thermodynamics to develop innovative thermal management solutions for advanced battery systems.
  • Utilise computational fluid dynamics simulations to analyse and optimise the performance of liquid cooled and air-cooled designs for various applications.
  • Validate and test cooling systems rigorously, establishing comprehensive databases for future reference and continuous improvement of system performance.
  • Develop complete thermal systems by integrating structures, mechanisms, and instrumentation elements tailored to solve specific customer challenges from concept through operation.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless build, test, integration, and operational phases of thermal components.
  • Perform detailed trade studies within mechanical and thermal subsystems to achieve optimal balance between performance requirements and system resource constraints.
  • Design robust cooling systems for battery modules, ensuring all requirements, interfaces, and interactions are clearly defined to meet targeted performance outcomes.
  • Document all engineering processes meticulously to support knowledge sharing across the team and facilitate future enhancements or troubleshooting efforts.
  • Engage in regular reviews with stakeholders to communicate progress, gather feedback, and align on technical objectives throughout each project lifecycle.

What you bring:

In the role of Thermal Engineer, your proven background in applying advanced principles of heat transfer and fluid mechanics will be essential as you tackle challenging projects involving battery cooling solutions. Your hands-on approach to system validation ensures that every design meets rigorous standards before deployment. You bring not only technical acumen but also a collaborative spirit—working closely with others to integrate diverse components into cohesive systems. Your attention to detail shines through in thorough documentation practices that benefit both current projects and future initiatives. With familiarity in industry-leading simulation tools and a passion for ongoing professional development, you are well-equipped to thrive in this environment. Your ability to communicate effectively across teams ensures that everyone remains aligned toward common goals while fostering an atmosphere of mutual respect.

  • Demonstrated expertise in heat transfer, fluid dynamics, thermodynamics, and computational fluid dynamics simulations applied within engineering environments.
  • Proven experience designing both liquid cooled and air-cooled systems for high-performance applications such as batteries or electronics.
  • Hands-on ability to validate and test cooling systems thoroughly while building structured databases for ongoing system use.
  • Track record of developing integrated thermal systems including associated structures, mechanisms, or instrumentation elements from concept through operation.
  • Experience performing trade studies within mechanical or thermal subsystems to achieve balanced performance outcomes under resource constraints.
  • Familiarity with industry-standard simulation software (such as ANSYS Fluent or similar) for modelling complex thermal phenomena.
  • Excellent documentation skills enabling clear communication of engineering processes for team-wide knowledge sharing.
  • Strong interpersonal abilities supporting effective collaboration with multidisciplinary teams throughout project lifecycles.
  • Commitment to continuous learning demonstrated by engagement with new technologies or methodologies relevant to thermal engineering.
