What you'll do:
- Design and arrange mechanical structures for notebooks, ensuring all components meet high standards for quality, reliability, and manufacturability.
- Collaborate closely with tooling teams to ensure Design for Manufacturability (DFM) principles are applied effectively throughout the mass production process.
- Identify, analyse, and resolve factory assembly challenges as well as quality assurance issues related to mass production, ensuring smooth operations from prototype through final product.
- Communicate regularly with cross-functional teams including engineering, manufacturing, quality assurance, and supply chain to align project goals and timelines.
- Participate in meetings with international clients using English to discuss product planning, requirements, and technical solutions.
- Lead or support the search for new technologies that can enhance product performance or streamline production processes.
- Investigate new materials suitable for notebook applications by conducting research studies and collaborating with suppliers or industry experts.
- Document design changes, test results, and process improvements clearly for future reference and knowledge sharing within the team.
- Mentor junior engineers or team members by providing guidance on best practices in mechanical design and problem-solving methodologies.
- Support the implementation of continuous improvement initiatives across projects by sharing insights gained from hands-on experience in mass production environments.
What you bring:
- Possess 5–10+ years of hands-on experience in mechanical design for notebooks (NB), desktops (DT), or all-in-one (AIO) devices within a manufacturing environment.
- Demonstrate previous experience guiding or supporting a team through complex engineering projects is highly desirable.
- Showcase excellent interpersonal skills with proven ability to collaborate effectively across departments such as engineering, manufacturing, quality assurance, and supply chain management.
- Exhibit strong English communication abilities enabling you to participate confidently in meetings with international clients regarding product planning or technical discussions.
- Display familiarity with Design for Manufacturability (DFM) principles as applied to tooling processes for large-scale production runs.
- Bring practical problem-solving skills developed through addressing factory assembly challenges or quality assurance issues during mass production phases.
- Have experience researching new technologies or materials relevant to notebook mechanical design is considered advantageous.
- Demonstrate attention to detail when documenting design changes or process improvements for knowledge sharing within the team.
- Show willingness to mentor junior engineers or contribute positively towards team learning initiatives.
