What you'll do:
- Apply your design, engineering, and technical expertise to influence cross-functional teams and deliver reliable mass production components while resolving time-sensitive challenges.
- Make significant contributions to the design, development, and validation of innovative solutions, with particular focus on cooling systems for cages and connector designs.
- Manage all aspects of product design by providing guidance to team members, communicating progress effectively, and requesting feedback to proactively prevent or remove roadblocks.
- Anticipate potential product design issues or risks by analysing data thoroughly and validating designs to suggest or implement meaningful improvements.
- Conduct feasibility studies for new projects by leveraging existing designs as well as generating new concepts and intellectual property to drive consistency across the portfolio.
- Collaborate with research teams to identify product requirements and contribute actively to project planning from concept through execution.
- Evaluate product performance using advanced engineering software tools such as NX (preferred), Creo, Pro/E, ensuring robust testing and analysis throughout the development cycle.
- Oversee tolerance stack-up analysis, review thermal management strategies, and assess reliability testing reports to ensure optimal product quality.
- Engage with manufacturing processes including molding of various materials, stamping, assembly procedures, and process optimisation for scalable production.
- Support knowledge sharing within the team by mentoring junior engineers and fostering an environment of continuous improvement.
What you bring:
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, process engineering, manufacturing engineering or equivalent practical experience is required for this position.
- A minimum of 8–10 years’ hands-on experience as an engineer with proven success in managing complex projects independently is essential.
- Comprehensive understanding of the entire product development process including Design Concept, EVT (Engineering Validation Test), DVT (Design Validation Test), PVT (Production Validation Test) is necessary.
- Demonstrated experience collaborating with cross-functional teams using English as the primary language for communication is highly valued.
- Proficiency in engineering design software such as NX (preferred), Creo, Pro/E or similar platforms is expected for effective project delivery.
- In-depth knowledge of molding techniques for different materials, stamping processes, assembly procedures, and overall product development lifecycle is required.
- Ability to analyse thermal management strategies and mechanical aspects of liquid cooling systems is important for this role.
- Exceptional problem-solving skills with a keen ability to deeply analyse testing failure modes are needed for success.
- Experience conducting tolerance stack-up analysis along with reviewing thermal management approaches and reliability testing reports is beneficial.
- Desirable: Experience working on server or switch liquid cooling systems; familiarity with high-speed connector industry; relevant knowledge of seal product design; exposure to simulation or performance analysis of liquid cooling thermal solutions; precision machining; brazing (furnace/vacuum); plastic & metal molding; soldering; stamping/assembly; welding or sintering processes; passion for design work and innovation.
