What you'll do:

As an Application Development Engineer based in Taoyuan, you will be at the forefront of designing custom high-speed cable assemblies that address specific client challenges. Your day-to-day activities will involve collaborating with customers from initial engagement through to final delivery—guiding them through product selection, system architecture decisions, and integration strategies. You will translate customer requirements into detailed mechanical designs using advanced CAD tools, develop prototypes for validation purposes, and create supporting documentation that underpins each solution. Your role extends beyond design; you will also provide hands-on technical support at various sites, lead informative training sessions, and participate in regular project meetings with global teams. Success in this position requires not only technical proficiency but also strong interpersonal skills as you balance multiple projects simultaneously while nurturing positive relationships with clients and colleagues alike.

• Engage closely with customers to understand their unique requirements and guide them towards selecting the most suitable cable solutions from an extensive product portfolio.
• Provide expert technical advice on system architecture, product selection, and integration best practices while maintaining open communication with all stakeholders.
• Develop detailed mechanical designs for custom cable configurations, producing comprehensive engineering drawings that serve as the foundation for successful implementation.
• Create and validate mockup systems using prototype cables to demonstrate optimal architectural approaches and ensure robust system performance.
• Assist customers in architecting compute trays for efficient hardware layout and effective cable routing, contributing to overall system efficiency.
• Design innovative cable management systems that guarantee proper routing and sustained performance throughout the product lifecycle.
• Develop specialised tools that facilitate easy installation and removal of cables within complex environments.
• Deliver onsite technical support at customer and original design manufacturer (ODM) locations during early build phases, ensuring smooth transitions from concept to reality.
• Conduct engaging technical presentations and training sessions for both customers and internal teams, fostering knowledge transfer and correct product usage.
• Participate actively in regular conference calls with customers, ODMs, and internal colleagues to manage 10-12 concurrent projects efficiently while providing timely updates.
