  • Evaluate material selection for mechanical processing with a keen awareness of cost sensitivity, balancing performance requirements with budget considerations.
  • Participate in detailed discussions regarding product appearance, component selection, spatial constraints, and thermal management strategies, leveraging experience in optomechanical design when applicable.
  • Lead the design of product mechanisms, conduct thorough structural assessments, and produce precise technical drawings to guide manufacturing processes.
  • Engage with suppliers to review mould structure designs, oversee tooling development from initial creation through trial runs, and provide feedback for necessary modifications.
  • Follow up on project pilot production phases by supporting DFM/DFA reviews, driving yield improvements, and assisting in scaling up for mass production.
  • Apply hands-on experience in designing optical mechanisms for IP cameras, projection systems, or IoT products to deliver robust solutions tailored to client needs.
  • Utilise advanced proficiency in PRO/E & Creo software to create detailed 3D models and engineering documentation that meet stringent industry standards.
  • Ensure compliance with IP6X (waterproof/dustproof) and IK (impact protection) requirements throughout the product development lifecycle.
  • Contribute actively to cross-functional teams by sharing insights on process optimisation and supporting continuous improvement initiatives.
