What you'll do:

As a Field Applications Engineer and Application Development Engineer based in Taoyuan, you will be at the forefront of customer engagement—guiding clients through every stage of their project lifecycle. Your day-to-day activities will involve close collaboration with both external partners and internal teams as you help architect robust compute tray layouts, design custom cable configurations, develop tools for installation or removal, and provide hands-on support during critical build phases. You will be responsible for managing multiple projects concurrently while drawing upon global engineering resources to deliver comprehensive interconnect solutions. Success in this role requires not only strong technical acumen but also excellent interpersonal skills as you educate customers through presentations or training sessions. By staying current with industry trends and proactively protecting intellectual property through patent applications when needed, you will contribute significantly to the organisation’s reputation as a trusted partner in the connector space.

• Work collaboratively with customers to understand their application requirements and guide them towards the most suitable cable solutions from an extensive product portfolio.
• Offer technical guidance on system architecture, integration best practices, and product selection while maintaining open communication to ensure customer satisfaction.
• Provide constructive feedback on customer design decisions when necessary to uphold optimal cable performance and share valuable lessons learned regarding potential problem areas.
• Design custom cable configurations using advanced mechanical design techniques and produce detailed engineering drawings that meet specific project needs.
• Develop mockup systems with prototype cables to validate architectural concepts and demonstrate best-in-class solutions for hardware layout and routing.
• Assist customers in architecting compute trays for efficient hardware placement and effective cable management, ensuring seamless integration within their systems.
• Create innovative cable management systems that facilitate proper routing, installation, removal, and long-term performance of interconnect products.
• Deliver onsite technical support at customer and original design manufacturer (ODM) locations during early build phases, providing hands-on assistance as required.
• Conduct engaging technical presentations and training sessions aimed at educating customers on correct product usage while also supporting sales and marketing teams with technical expertise.
• Stay informed about technological advancements in connectors and interconnection technologies, applying for patents when appropriate to protect intellectual property developed during projects.
• Participate actively in multiple weekly conference calls with customers, ODMs, and internal teams throughout the development process to ensure alignment and timely execution of project milestones.
• Manage 10-12 concurrent projects simultaneously by coordinating resources effectively, tracking progress meticulously, and delivering regular updates to stakeholders.
• Leverage the global engineering capabilities of other divisions within the organisation to collaborate on interconnect product development initiatives that deliver total solutions for customers.
