What you'll do:

As an Optical Manager based in Taipei City, you will take ownership of critical projects involving camera lens development from concept through to mass production. Your day-to-day activities will include selecting suitable optical components, designing integrated systems for smart devices, running simulations using advanced software tools, planning rigorous experiments, analysing test data, and guiding your team towards technical mastery. Success in this role requires not only deep technical knowledge but also strong interpersonal skills as you coordinate with multiple departments to address challenges collaboratively. You will play a key part in shaping organisational strategy by developing your team's core competencies while ensuring that every project aligns with broader business goals. Your ability to mentor others and foster a culture of shared learning will be instrumental in driving both individual growth and collective achievement.

  • Oversee the end-to-end process of camera device lens development, including prototyping, validation, and mass production, ensuring all deliverables meet high standards of quality and performance.
  • Select appropriate optical components and drive their design to achieve optimal results for various imaging applications within smart home and smart building contexts.
  • Conduct comprehensive optical simulations and analyse data using industry-standard software tools such as ZEMAX, CODE V, TracePro, or ASAP to inform design decisions and improve product outcomes.
  • Lead the integration of optical systems into broader product architectures, working closely with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless application and functionality.
  • Plan experiments meticulously, execute testing protocols, and perform detailed data analysis to validate hypotheses and refine designs based on empirical evidence.
  • Develop organisational strategies aimed at enhancing team capabilities, fostering technical excellence, and supporting long-term business objectives related to optical technology.
  • Coordinate with internal stakeholders across departments to resolve complex technical issues efficiently while maintaining open channels of communication.
  • Mentor team members by sharing knowledge in imaging and non-imaging optics, encouraging skill development through hands-on training sessions and collaborative problem-solving.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives by staying abreast of emerging trends in optics and integrating best practices into daily operations.
  • Support the creation of documentation for processes, findings, and project milestones to ensure transparency and facilitate future reference.
