What you'll do:

As a Senior Optical Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in shaping innovative solutions for AI-driven and high-performance optical networks. Your day-to-day activities will involve designing sophisticated optical modules using state-of-the-art simulation tools like ZEMAX, performing detailed tolerance analyses, assembling prototypes on the optical table, and exploring new technological advancements. You will also provide essential support during production stages by addressing technical challenges alongside manufacturing teams. International collaboration is central to this role; you will engage regularly with colleagues from various disciplines—ranging from wavelength management to photonic integrated circuits—across different countries. Your ability to communicate effectively in both English and Mandarin will be key as you contribute your expertise within a truly global network of professionals.

  • Design and develop advanced optical modules tailored for artificial intelligence and high-speed optical network applications, ensuring optimal performance and reliability.
  • Utilise ZEMAX software extensively for precise optical design tasks as well as conducting comprehensive tolerance analyses to guarantee product quality.
  • Build research and development samples on the optical table, applying meticulous attention to detail during assembly and testing phases.
  • Investigate emerging technologies and components within the optics domain, staying ahead of industry trends to inform design decisions.
  • Provide expert support on production issues by troubleshooting problems efficiently and implementing effective solutions in collaboration with manufacturing teams.
  • Participate in business travel assignments to the USA and China as required, supporting project rollouts and fostering strong international partnerships.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including wavelength management specialists, connectivity engineers, CPO experts, Opto-E professionals, and photonic IC groups across multiple regions.
  • Contribute actively to technical discussions with mechanical engineering colleagues and production staff to ensure seamless integration of optical systems into final products.
  • Maintain clear communication channels in both English and Mandarin when working with diverse internal stakeholders around the globe.
