What you'll do:

  • Collaborate with management, peers, and customers to gather and refine requirements for new BMC products, ensuring all stakeholder needs are addressed throughout the development process.
  • Work alongside the UEFI team to guarantee seamless interoperability between BMC firmware and platform firmware components for optimal system performance.
  • Partner with design and QA teams to enhance user interface elements and overall usability of BMC solutions, focusing on delivering intuitive experiences.
  • Assist in powering on new hardware platforms by providing technical guidance during initial bring-up phases and troubleshooting any issues that arise.
  • Diagnose and resolve complex hardware and firmware issues using advanced debugging techniques to maintain high product reliability.
  • Support bug fixes and security updates throughout the entire lifecycle of each product, ensuring ongoing compliance with industry standards.
  • Develop original code as well as custom features that add value to existing BMC offerings, tailoring solutions to meet specific customer requirements.
  • Engage in rack-level development activities to ensure robust integration of BMC systems within larger data centre environments.
  • Contribute actively to team discussions by sharing insights, best practices, and lessons learned from previous projects to foster collective growth.
  • Maintain thorough documentation of development processes, issue resolutions, and feature enhancements for future reference.

What you bring:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science/Engineering or equivalent experience with at least five years dedicated to firmware or software development roles.
  • At least three years’ hands-on experience working specifically with BMC firmware solutions, ideally leveraging OpenBMC platforms for enterprise applications.
  • Proven familiarity with BMC hardware architectures such as AST2500 or AST2600 chipsets used in modern server environments.
  • Demonstrated expertise in IPMI protocols as well as VUE frameworks relevant to remote management interfaces.
  • Practical exposure to rack-level development tasks involving large-scale deployment scenarios within data centres or similar settings.
  • Advanced proficiency in C or C++ programming languages applied within embedded systems contexts.
  • Exceptional debugging abilities enabling rapid identification and resolution of both hardware- and software-related issues under pressure.
  • A collaborative mindset that allows you to work effectively within diverse teams while also being dependable when tackling independent assignments.
