Finance Director

A global branding company in Taipei City is seeking a Finance Director who will play a pivotal role in shaping the financial future of the property. As Finance Director, you will be at the heart of strategic decision-making, collaborating closely with the General Manager and senior management team to ensure the highest standards of financial stewardship and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

• Collaborate closely with the General Manager and other members of the management team to address their needs and support overall operations.
• Ensure strict compliance with all terms and conditions outlined in the management contract, especially those relating to financial responsibilities, promptly reporting any discrepancies.
• Identify opportunities to enhance profitability by encouraging detailed exception reports and analyses that measure progress towards financial objectives.
• Supervise, mentor, and support subordinate employees to optimise profitability while fostering an improved guest experience through effective team management.
• Initiate comprehensive employee development and evaluation programmes for all finance staff to maintain high levels of professional competence and continuity.
• Organise an efficient treasury function that manages working capital and cash flow according to corporate guidelines while maintaining sufficient liquidity for obligations.
• Oversee the operation and maintenance of the computerised data processing systems within established corporate guidelines to ensure accuracy and security.
• Compile and submit all required financial reports, budgets, forecasts, and related information accurately within specified deadlines; identify variances and recommend improvements as needed.
• Review forecasts and budgets prepared by management to keep senior leaders fully informed about implications affecting financial performance.
• Install and maintain robust controls for asset protection against loss or misappropriation while ensuring adequate insurance coverage as per contractual requirements.

Key Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance is essential for this role.
• At least five years’ experience as Financial Controller within accounting operations is required to excel in this position.
• Proven ability to generate comprehensive financial reports including profit & loss statements, income statements, balance sheets, and more is necessary.
• Excellent communication skills in both Mandarin and English are vital for effective interaction across teams.
• Advanced proficiency in Excel is required for assembling complex spreadsheets and analysing technical information efficiently.
• Strong prioritisation skills are needed to meet tight deadlines without compromising quality or accuracy.
• Exceptional presentation abilities are important for conveying financial insights clearly to stakeholders.
• Effective management skills are crucial for leading teams with empathy while promoting organisational goals.
• Outstanding organisational skills combined with interpersonal sensitivity enable successful collaboration across departments.
